The first meeting of the #figawa industry forum on water took place 2 weeks ago. On the first day, we were given an exclusive insight into the technology of the #WWKArena of FC Augsburg and then had enough time for professional and personal exchange in the beautiful ambience of the VIP area at the #networking evening. Day two was dominated by the EU chemicals strategy and its significance for the water sector In the top-class lecture programme, there were impulses and approaches to solutions with concrete indications of the effects for the respective member companies. Lectures: Martin Ahlhaus (Product Law Firm) with the legal perspective on the EU Chemicals Strategy as part of the EU Green Deal. 🎤 Prof. Klaus Kümmerer (Institute for Sustainable Chemistry (INSC), Leuphania University Lüneburg) on aspects of sustainable chemistry and new business models. 🎤 Dr. Veronika Beer (wdk Wirtschaftsverband der deutschen Kautschukindustrie e.V.) with an assessment of future challenges along the supply chain Dr. Helmut Uhlmann (A.p.f. Aqua System AG) on solution approaches for SMEs 🎤 Miguel Prieto (Cefic (European Chemical Industry Council)) on the current situation and the challenges of implementing the EU chemicals strategy. Everybody is concentrating on efficiency or cost when they talking the hydrogen value chain. They are right! But there is a one part that seems to be forgotten or perhaps too quickly considered to get back to the cost and efficiency discussion Let’s talk about : Water!!! No water will make the green ammonia from electrolysis impossible. So perhaps it deserves a bit more consideration!
