As the use of AI becomes more prominent in the digital marketing landscape, it's not a bad idea to consider what motivates people in the first place - human connection.
Human beings are hard-wired to seek connection and this is evident in our beliefs, values, and relationships. We urgently want to feel a sense of community and belonging and, as consumers, we can achieve this by choosing brands that resonate with our values and belief system.
Take Nike, for example. You might choose Nike as your go-to brand for sportswear because you like the style of their clothes. What you may not realize is that, by choosing Nike, you are choosing to be a part of a community of like-minded individuals who have also chosen Nike.
As consumers, we are presented with a plethora of choices and we all go through similar mental checklists to make our decisions. At the end of the day, each person who chose Nike arrived at the same conclusion.
Whether we do this consciously or subconsciously, people will always choose products or services that resonate with their core values and provide them with a sense of community - something that AI can never achieve.
People don't connect with robots, they connect with people.
