Getting a hole-in-one is not as rare as you might think. Special Event Award coverage can pay the winning prize amount for large cash contests, like hole-in-one golf contests. https://ow.ly/3R0G30sBbAK

As we turn the calendar to May, we also celebrate a landmark event in American sports—the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. This historic race isn't just a display of equine excellence; it’s a culmination of years of meticulous preparation and strategic planning, much like the work we do as benefits consultants. Horse trainers and benefits consultants operate behind the scenes with a common goal: to see long-term plans come to fruition. For the trainers, it’s about understanding each horse, developing tailored training programs, and making strategic decisions that lead to success on the racetrack. Similarly, in benefits consulting, our success comes from thoroughly understanding client needs, crafting well-rounded benefits programs, and strategically adjusting them over time to meet evolving goals. 🥂 Fun Fact: Over 120,000 mint juleps are served during the Kentucky Derby weekend, highlighting the race’s rich tradition and festive spirit. As we celebrate the Derby, let’s embrace the spirit of dedication and strategic foresight that connects our work to this iconic event. 🏇 Join the Conversation: How do you prepare for long-term success in your professional endeavors? Whether it’s through strategic planning, continuous learning, or adaptability, share your approach in the comments below! #strategydriven #futurefocused #kyderby #employeebenefits

Thank you for signing up to be part of the conversation about reversing the downward trends of our breed and association. In our discussions across North America with our peers, the widely held consensus we’ve repeatedly heard is “that our breed association is in a state of disrepair and unable to react in the fast paced world we are now living in”, despite the hard work of so many individuals within the organization. Our association is locked in an antiquated governance structure that impedes growth and change no matter who is at the helm. We, the members of the Arabian Horse Association, can keep sitting back and wait for someone else to correct the situation, or we can stand up as a collective group and act ……. if not now……then when is the time to “FIX IT”. The purpose of this proposed restructure is to: Increase the value of a membership in A.H.A. by giving every member a voice by allowing the membership to directly elect key members of their governance team. Thus allowing the members to be directly engaged in the outcomes and direction of our member owned association. Make the board size more manageable and directly accountable to the membership. This will lead to more effective strategic planning and transparency through data driven results. The World has and continues to change at a breakneck pace. Our association needs to be able to react and implement strategic initiatives quickly. Within our current structure, this is almost an impossibility. Open our governance structure to a greater pool of qualified individuals by changing the defining requirement for service. Meaning many members of the board will be elected and appointed to the board for their expertise. Enable the board to act swiftly on impediments to growth and especially to remove the bureaucratic obstacles to change. Create both a sense of urgency and renewed optimism by realizing that we can grow if we are not afraid to change. We want to hear from you. To start, please take a few minutes to send us the top three action items that you feel are the most important to: Reinvigorate participation with our horses. Restore faith in the organization’s ability to lead us forward. Secondly, feel free to call any of us listed below or email us with ANY questions whatsoever. Please email your responses to [email protected] More than anything, we believe working together we can make our association better for the benefit of its members and our horses. Thank you for joining this conversation! Sincerely, The Arabian Horse Promotional Fund Board of Directors: Becky Nash, Lisa Blackstone, Peter Conway, Mary Trowbridge and Lara Ames In conjunction with The “Fix It Initiative” Committee Members: Ralph Manning, Russ Taylor, Liz Haar and Tex Kam
