Will you help today's graduate students explore tomorrow's aviation challenges? This week's question is from Robin, Saad, Noah, Ananthu & Mino: **How do current aviation/aeronautics professionals and industry leaders feel about people entering the industry without traditional aviation/aerospace experience?** In a time when innovation is key, how do we view non-traditional entrants, like students from other disciplines, contributing to aviation? What advice would you give them to learn the ropes and soar? Drop your insights below! ✈️🛠️ #AviationInnovation #MentorshipMatters

🎯 Objective: The #FlyYourIdeas challenge encourages students to activate their #PioneeringSpirit and #innovate for the future of #aerospace. With support from Airbus experts, we want teams to tackle global challenges to create a safer, cleaner and better-connected world. 👩🎓 The Challenge: #FlyYourIdeas is an exciting challenge and competition for #UniversityStudents across #UK, #France, #Germany, #Spain and #TheNetherlands. In teams of 3, students will tackle genuine key aerospace challenges by proposing their unique solutions using their latest academic knowledge. Choose your challenge: 💼 #BusinessModels- What else could be done with aircraft other than transportation? How can this revolutionise the passenger experience? ⚙ #DesignEngineering- How can artificial intelligence support aircraft design and/or manufacturing? ♻ #SustainableMaterials- How can the aerospace industry leverage innovative and eco friendly materials to enhance aircraft performance while minimising environmental impact? 🛩 Final: The top 2 teams will then receive an exclusive invite to Farnborough International Airshow. The final, held at #FarnboroughAirshow2024, where the top two teams will get the chance to further progress their ideas, and battle it out in front of our judges. This is the opportunity to demonstrate both your passion that led you to pioneer your concept. 🏆 The Prize: The winning team will receive a fastrack interview to an assessment centre for the Airbus #GlobalGraduateProgramme 2025 cohort starting September that year. https://lnkd.in/dux4gJ6a

Our Tuesday Talks have taken off, and our inaugural session was a hit! Industry expert Rob Strickland from United Airlines recently shared invaluable insights with over 20 eager students, shedding light on his own remarkable journey and providing key perspectives on navigating a career in aviation. Missed the live session? No problem! You can catch the full recording right here: https://lnkd.in/g9SeyXec But we're just getting started, and we need your help to keep the momentum going! If you or someone you know works in Aerospace, we'd love to hear from you! Whether you're a pilot, mechanic, engineer, ATC staff, drone pilot, astronaut, or anything else, your unique perspective and experiences could make a huge impact on our students' futures. Not everyone in Aerospace is a pilot, and we want to showcase the diverse array of career paths available in the industry. We're especially interested in hearing from individuals with nontraditional pathways or from underrepresented communities, highlighting the rich diversity of Aerospace and the varied journeys students can take to get there. Just an hour of your time could make all the difference in shaping the future of one of our students. If you're interested in getting involved, please email [email protected] or simply reply to this post for more information. Let's inspire the next generation of Aerospace professionals together! #AviationEducation #ProfessionalDevelopment #TuesdayTalks

🟣 This mid-December l'IRT AESE - Saint Exupéry organized in its Toulouse facility (#B612) the Project Management Committee (PMC) and General Assembly (GA) meetings devoted to the coordination of the Clean Aviation #SMR ACAP project. It focuses on the small/medium range (SMR) aircraft architecture and technology. It will provide, among other deliverables, the digital collaborative framework with tools, means and skills needed to achieve the Clean Aviation goals: reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to a 2020 state-of-the-art technology and replace 75% of the fleet by 2050. We welcomed representatives from Airbus, Safran, ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab, Liebherr Aérospace Toulouse, Liebherr Electronics and Drives GmbH, esploro projects GmbH, Fraunhofer ICT, and German Aerospace Center (DLR). They enjoyed a visit of IRT Saint Exupéry’s technological platforms led by Jean-Marie Des et Laurent AIMAIN Carl-Christoph Höhne; Sebastian Woehler; Nejat Mahdavi; Sébastien Defoort; Marion Bonlieu; Eric Collin; Fabian Bonnaure; Xavier Hue; Julien Baclet; Ben Newman #cleanaviation #horizoneurope #euresearch #EUInnovation #SustainableEurope

I had the opportunity to attend AVIATION ASCEND 2024 AIAA in what was my first professional conference! 🚀✈️ While working in any discipline, it’s so easy to lose sight of the bigger picture and how others are contributing to similar and different goals 🎯. Conferences like this allow us to take a step back and really appreciate all of the work we and our peers are contributing to 👏🏽. It gives us the unique opportunity to learn about and consider new challenges, think about new solutions, and meet some really cool people along the way 😎 This year’s conference was all about the future of aviation and aerospace 🔮, including discussions about scalable and sustainable infrastructure 🛸, circular technology development🌿, efficient/quieter aircraft design and operations 🔇, alternative energy sources and addressing GHG emissions 💨, the implications of AI👾, and space policies for future exploration and collaboration🪐. In short, it was AWESOME! Here’s to the next one 💫 #aviation #ascend #aerospace
