With support from Airbus experts, we want teams to tackle global challenges to create a safer, cleaner and better-connected world. 👩🎓 The Challenge: #FlyYourIdeas is an exciting challenge and competition for #UniversityStudents across #UK, #France, #Germany, #Spain and #TheNetherlands. In teams of 3, students will tackle genuine key aerospace challenges by proposing their unique solutions using their latest academic knowledge.    Choose your challenge: 💼 #BusinessModels- What else could be done with aircraft other than transportation? How can this revolutionise the passenger experience? ⚙ #DesignEngineering- How can artificial intelligence support aircraft design and/or manufacturing? ♻ #SustainableMaterials- How can the aerospace industry leverage innovative and eco friendly materials to enhance aircraft performance while minimising environmental impact? 🛩 Final: The top 2 teams will then receive an exclusive invite to Farnborough International Airshow. 🟣 This mid-December l'IRT AESE - Saint Exupéry organized in its Toulouse facility (#B612) the Project Management Committee (PMC) and General Assembly (GA) meetings devoted to the coordination of the Clean Aviation #SMR ACAP project. It focuses on the small/medium range (SMR) aircraft architecture and technology. It will provide, among other deliverables, the digital collaborative framework with tools, means and skills needed to achieve the Clean Aviation goals: reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to a 2020 state-of-the-art technology and replace 75% of the fleet by 2050. We welcomed representatives from Airbus, Safran, ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab, Liebherr Aérospace Toulouse, Liebherr Electronics and Drives GmbH, esploro projects GmbH, Fraunhofer ICT, and German Aerospace Center (DLR). I had the opportunity to attend AVIATION ASCEND 2024 AIAA in what was my first professional conference! 🚀✈️ While working in any discipline, it’s so easy to lose sight of the bigger picture and how others are contributing to similar and different goals 🎯. Conferences like this allow us to take a step back and really appreciate all of the work we and our peers are contributing to 👏🏽. It gives us the unique opportunity to learn about and consider new challenges, think about new solutions, and meet some really cool people along the way 😎 This year’s conference was all about the future of aviation and aerospace 🔮, including discussions about scalable and sustainable infrastructure 🛸, circular technology development🌿, efficient/quieter aircraft design and operations 🔇, alternative energy sources and addressing GHG emissions 💨, the implications of AI👾, and space policies for future exploration and collaboration🪐.
