Assumptions challenged. In the most boldest of ways. I found the boldness and sheer artistry of the Paris Olympic Opening Games…breathtaking. Creative Director Thomas Jolly, an award winning French theatre artist (who was bullied as a child and found solace in drama and theatre) directed the event which has been noted as the most complex and ambitious opening ceremony of all time. I was struck by how many assumptions were challenged. The ceremony must be in a stadium? Think again. The athletes parade the stadium on foot? Think again. I learned the transfer of how artists think - to the business world from Tina Seelig. Seelig proposes that challenging assumptions helps you move past the first and second wave ideas to move towards breakthrough thinking. Just like an artist an innovative thinker asks “Does it have to be this way?” “What if?” And of course - “Why?” By challenging assumptions, it’s possible to break free from how things have always been done and re-imagine a different way but having purpose and meaning as the driving forces. Of course for many it’s “not the same” having the ceremony housed outside a stadium. But that was the point after all. #challengeassumptions #breakthroughthinking

Why is this Western trend sweeping China? Here's why it's so popular... First, as a form of cinema heavily reliant on fan economics, the box office success of concert films is closely tied to the personal appeal of the star. With a combined social media following of five hundred million, Taylor's formidable popularity naturally gives her concert film high market potential. Secondly, the cleverness of the production team lies in updating the content orientation and viewing experience of the concert. Unlike past idol concert films that tried to make the visual content resemble a narrative film to enhance its "cinematic" quality, Taylor abandoned this approach and magnified the essence of the "concert" itself. Through post-production techniques and the audio-visual equipment in theaters, the film provides a unique concert experience for both dedicated fans and general audiences. And perhaps most fun of all... in the cinema, the audience is encouraged to record, sing, dance, and interact—discarding the traditional rules of movie-watching to recreate the atmosphere of a live concert. Even if Taylor herself is not physically present, the large cinema screen, high-fidelity sound system, and the collective admiration for the same idol contribute to a shared sense of euphoria. This trend is further intensified and disseminated through social media, ultimately turning attending Taylor's concert in the cinema into an emotional outlet and a social activity. Because in those failures often lie the seeds of true theatrical brilliance. Curiosity guides us in this theatrical journey. We must question everything - why does this character behave this way? What if we performed the script backwards? How can we make the audience not just watch, but feel, smell, taste the story?I’ve always believed that the most powerful theatre comes from a place of honesty and imagination. It’s about peeling back the layers of society and ourselves, exposing the truth underneath. It’s about creating moments that make the audience react and question everything they thought they knew. Being curious means we’re always learning and growing. We draw inspiration from everywhere - the bustling streets of Hong Kong, ancient myths, modern technology - everything has the potential to inspire. Let’s be bold. Let’s create theatre that provokes, challenges, and leaves our audience changed.
