👨💻💡 Back-End vs. Front-End: Where Does Your Passion Lie? 💡👩💻 Hey LinkedIn community! As software engineers, we often find ourselves at the crossroads of back-end and front-end development. Each path has its unique challenges and rewards, and I'm curious to hear your experiences and preferences! 🌐 Front-End Devs: - What’s your favorite part about crafting seamless user experiences? - Any cool projects you're proud of? Share them! ⚙️ Back-End Devs: - What excites you about building robust and scalable systems? - Have you faced any interesting challenges recently? Tell us about it! 💬 Let's make this interactive! - If you’re a front-end developer, comment with your favorite UI framework/library! - If you’re a back-end developer, share your go-to server-side language or database! I'm kicking things off: I enjoy the back-end challenge of creating efficient and scalable data models. Recently, I built an SCD2 model for a project, which was both challenging and rewarding! 🚀 Looking forward to your stories and insights! I love the idea of fullstack developers. Back in 2004, when I started my journey as a web developer, everyone was a full stack dev. I know the technology is getting more complex on both the front-end and back-end sides, and many people will tell you that if you are a full stack developer, you are going to be a 'middle dev' for all of your life. But I quite disagree. I think right now is the best time to be a full stack developer, and it's exactly they who will get all the benefits of using AI tools to speed up the development process or build a one-person dev team by using AI. I have quite a lot of ideas about this and I am going to post some of them here to show how full stack developers can benefit from using AI and grow their performance and quality. Follow me to get more, and don't be afraid of AI, use #AI :-) #ai #fullstackdeveloper #fullstackdevelopment

Frontend Developers! Are you noticing more companies requiring you to have experience with CI/CD pipelines or micro-frontend architecture? It's a trend which I've seen growing over the past 12 months! In fact around 80% of new roles I have worked are wanting Frontend devs to have some exposure to CI/CD or micro-frontends. WHY is this? 👩🏻💻 CI/CD pipelines automate the process of integrating code changes speeding up the development process and allowing you to deliver features faster. 🗣️ Frontend Developers with architecture exp can better communicate with backend developers. Understand their requirements, and contribute to creating a cohesive, well-architected system. ✅ Deployments become more predictable and reliable and predictable without causing disruptions to the application. 📈 Micro Frontends allow frontend developers to break down large monolithic frontend applications into smaller, more manageable pieces making it much easier to scale applications in the future. This is the lates trend I'm seeing on the market, Frontend Devs it would be great to see if you are picking this up in your current role or if your searching for a new role are you seeing the same? #techhirng #frontendjobs #softwarearchitecture

This is a legitimate Engineering concern but it has more to do with absence of a consistent understanding than a bad developer After working with a few developers, I have realised that the major cause of this kind of stuff is a clear misunderstanding of the journey and endpoint of the project by all the developers involved. It has very little to do with skills or experience. In one internship, I was once exposed to something called Sequence Diagram and User Case diagram. These 2 documents are core documents that are both useful to both FE and BE and very essential. Unfortunately, no many people don't know about it or even use it. Figma is cool but it is not enough to be rely on when hoping to build a consistency between development teams. If any team wants development team to be truly consistent with each other and ship reliable APIs, then a proper sequence diagram that describes minutes thought and work flow of the application SHOULD be designed before any code is written. It is a little tough to create but will save hundreds of development minutes and bad blood

Dear Backend Developers, As a frontend engineer, I have nothing but respect for the work you do. But let's be honest, there are a few things that have been driving us on the frontend side crazy. And it's about time we had an open conversation about it. First of all, we get that data structures, databases, and servers are your playground. But when it comes to APIs, can we please prioritize usability and efficiency? If I have to pass through another inconsistent, under-documented, or overly nested JSON response, I might lose it. Let not even forget the fact that the UI flow we work on sometimes doesn’t correspond with your backend logic, I mean it won’t kill for you guys to check the UI flow before writing any logic right? And nothing is more frustrating than a 500 error with zero clues about what went wrong. A little transparency goes a long way, I mean a detailed error messages and meaningful status codes aren't just "nice to haves", they're essential. We all know that speed matters. But when it comes to user experience, latency can kill. Frontend developers often get blamed for slow load times, but sometimes the culprit is an unoptimized backend. The silos between frontend and backend teams need to come down. Regular sync-ups, better documentation, and mutual understanding of each other's challenges can only lead to us building a better product and let's make communication the norm. Looking forward to some spirited discussions and, most importantly, meaningful improvements.
