Global Med Device Leader Building Companies and Careers at TMG

This week we look at a High Performance Management System (HPMS) and a little thing called Recency Bias as well. Clip 7 of 10 in the latest episode of "The R&D Podcast🎙️" with my colleague, Devin Stanley. In this clip we discuss how important the Values, Mission, and Vision of a company are, and how those desired states determine delighted customers, motivated employees, and satisfied shareholders. Additionally we touch on how the most recent conversations can supersede accepted job offers, especially if a new employee has a delayed start date. Who will they trust, the new unknown employer, or the person in their ear who they have worked with for years? For example, recency bias is believing the recent stock market surge will continue indefinitely, despite long-term historical fluctuations. This and much more unpacked in our most recent chat. #buildingcompanies #buildingcareers #recencybias #hpms #tmg

Risking the present for a better tomorrow. Just a guy attempting to build an adolescent residential treatment platform I would place my own child in.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Podcast and the insights gleaned. Thank you. With respect to HPMS, in many ways it is like the background software or what some like to call your "Human Operating System." From a non-business perspective, Sebastian Junger's book "Tribe" and Robert Putnam's excellent tome "Upswing" provide additional clarity on the more primal needs being met within any HPMS. Both talk about the necessity and primacy of three things for tribes and/or societies to thrive: 1) High degree of social capital; 2) Trust in leaders and institutions; 3) Shared narrative and purpose...in other words, why are we even doing this? All three of these drivers speak primarily to the brains right hemisphere. Most performance management systems are too left hemisphere dominant resulting in cultural and departmental fragmentation. Maintaining awareness and balance of bi-hemisphere drivers is absolutely key to any performance management system, IMO.

Definitely need to stay in their ear and, yes, the new employer needs to be in constant contact between the offer acceptance and start date. Got a sneak peek behind the scenes yesterday of your setup. Awesome studio!
