There’s still much work to do to achieve reproductive justice. We must ensure that women and people who give birth across the country—particularly those who face the greatest barriers, including people of color, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQI community—have access to a full range of reproductive healthcare services and the ability to raise families in safe, sustainable communities. Our latest series of research briefs highlights evidence-based policy solutions that can help advance reproductive justice, including: - Medicaid expansion - Access to paid family and medical leave - Access to nutrition programs and other economic supports.

Abortion is basic mainstream healthcare that shouldn’t have restrictions imposed by politicians and should be truly accessible to everyone no matter their identity, location, or economic circumstances. 2. Restricting abortion and other types of reproductive health care is gender discrimination and rooted in gender stereotypes and control of women and people who can become pregnant. 3. Criminalizing healthcare and punishing women and families is never the best approach. Giving people access to healthcare and economic resources is. 4. Contraception is a right, is necessary for gender equity, and should be available to all in the most easily accessible ways possible, including teens. 5. One in four women experience intimate partner violence (IPV), and these rates can be even higher for people with marginalized identities (e.g., LGBTQIA , people of color). Reproductive health care providers have a unique role in preventing and responding to IPV. This webinar from the OPA-funded Reproductive Health National Training Center (RHNTC) discusses what IPV can look like, how it affects a person’s overall and reproductive health, and how family planning providers can practice an inclusive approach to assessment and response to ensure more clients experiencing IPV receive the support they need. https://lnkd.in/e2uEq2W5
