Last week, RVO Health had the privilege of hearing from Douglas Backstrom, senior copy editor at Healthline Media, for a thought-provoking session on why diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives must be championed by company leaders to truly take root. At RVO Health, we're committed to building a company that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and empowering every employee to show up authentically. Thank you to Douglas for an insightful session!

We are just half way through June, a month for us to celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion…and pride! Pride to be who we are, pride to fight for our rights, pride to be an inspiration for someone, pride to love with no fear. Not only in June, but during all the months, GE HealthCare has been promoting discussions and forums to talk about DE&I and how this topic has been impacting the organizations and our way to make business. I had opportunity to be on some of those conversations and it’s amazing to see this movement and actions impacting people in real life. According to some recent research, diverse companies are healthier, happier and more profitable. Did you know that? So, let’s make our bit! Happy Pride Month! #PrideMonth #GEHealthCare #Diversity #Inclusion

Organising in communities for environmental, social and health justice │ Churchill Fellow, Julie's Bicycle Creative Climate Leader 🌱
The 2023 Race Report shares what sadly, many of us already know - the environmental, climate, sustainability and conservation sector is one of the least racially diverse in the country. Across 142 organisations in 2023, only 6% of staff identified as people of colour - showing no statistically significant change in representation of people of colour or other racially or ethnically minoritised groups from the 2022 report. But true EDI isn't just about numbers - we need to move beyond representation, and ask: how are organisations reflecting the environmental and social justice values of their diverse staff? How are senior leadership teams working to dismantle systems of oppression and power imbalances that will allow them to build transformational relationships with communities of colour, nature and land, that can influence organisational culture and strategy? Big thank you to the amazing team at The Race Report for their continued work, and the panellists Tori Tsui, Sy Joshua, M.A., M.Sc., Charles Ogunbode, Miss Divine and Vibhati Bhatia for the insightful and inspriring discussion on today's webinar. You can read The 2023 Race Report here: https://lnkd.in/e9jYgYu5 And if you're from an environmental organisation which took part, you can view the Transparency Cards for each org here: https://lnkd.in/emJJ8iDy

The positive impact of an Inclusive Culture on people and performance is well documented, and Insights Leaders & Teams continue to invest in and take active steps towards achievement of this goal. While strides are being made, there remains a compelling need to shine the spotlight on the often-overlooked realm of micro-aggressions that are ever present in the workplace. Addressing this issue head on is the responsibility of ALL of us and requires us to strengthen our antenna for spotting microaggressions, and then knowing precisely what actions to take to address them. So, if you're heading to Atlanta for the Insights Association's Annual Conference 2024, be sure to check out Nicole Mitchell and Ebony Pritchett's powerful and enlightening session on Navigating the Unseen: Understanding and Addressing Microaggressions in the Workplace The session will provide: • A comprehensive understanding of microaggressions • Insights into how different groups may experience and perceive microaggressions • Specific recommendations for prevention and remedial action Click on the link for the full schedule of Inclusive Research events at Annual, or reach out if you'd like to know more: Art Flanagan, Kristina Perkins, Randa Mahmud-Ulankiewicz, MS, Ally Speers, Kayte ('Kate') Hamilton, Charlene Darko, Sandra Grandsoult (she/her), Jackie Chan, Dyna Boen, Damon Jones https://lnkd.in/gFMz7pVj #Insights #Inclusiveinsights #Insightsassociation #inclusion #DEI

3moThank you for the opportunity! It was wonderful to talk about the lessons I learned and experiences I had at Stanford University's LGBTQ Executive Leadership Program. A very rich experience for me indeed, and I'm thrilled I got to share with my colleagues at RVOH. #GSBExecEd
