Nearly 300 of our brightest minds scrambled and hacked their way through an electrifying three-day event at our Charlotte headquarters this week. 🚀 RVO Health’s 2024 Tech Summit brought together our engineering, security, IT, TPM and data teams from across the world and featured special guests like our CEO Jeff Hallock and VP of Generative AI at Databricks, Naveen Rao. Highlights that got our synapses firing: • An intense hackathon pushed teams to pave new roads by acting with conviction–while having a blast!  • 28 teams scrambled their way through a four-story egg drop challenge (with some cracking results!) • Teams led strategy sessions and learnings that sparked new ideas For many, it was the first face-to-face meeting since our 2022 launch. The energy was palpable as teams collaborated, innovated, and connected over food trucks and games. "Self-love is being more committed to your happiness and peace than your own suffering."That’s one of the many powerful ideas that guest speaker Nitika Chopra shared with RVO Health’s teams last week. (En)courage, our Employee Impact Group for team members with disabilities, hosted the webinar as part of our celebration of Disability Pride Month. The event, focused on thriving with a chronic illness, explored the complexities of living with invisible and visible illnesses, building a supportive community and moving forward with grace. Thank you Nitika for your candid presentation and to (En)courage leaders, Molly Unrath and Ryan McKenna for moderating! It's initiatives like this that reinforce RVO Health's commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, understanding and empowerment.

Our summer intern cohort participated in mid-summer business reviews last week; presenting to a variety of teams, their mentors, cross-functional leaders, including CEO Jeff Hallock and Chief of Staff Stephanie Friedrich Landry. Interns shared how their projects support the work of their teams, brands and the larger RVOH purpose. Congratulations on hitting the mid-summer mark and thanks for all of your hard work thus far!

Last week, RVO Health had the privilege of hearing from Douglas Backstrom, senior copy editor at Healthline Media, for a thought-provoking session on why diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives must be championed by company leaders to truly take root. Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating Pride Month with a thought-provoking event. Kaleidoscope, our employee resource group dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA individuals and allies, hosted a compelling discussion between Todd May and Jim Fielding, an acclaimed author and president of Archer Gray's Co-Lab division. The conversation covered topics ranging from authenticity in the workplace to opportunities for growth within the healthcare sector. Jim shared valuable insights on how we can break through barriers and find acceptance, both professionally and personally. The conversation delved into the challenges and triumphs of being true to oneself in an environment that may not always be as inclusive as it should be. We encourage you to continue the conversation and find ways to support and uplift the LGBTQIA community, not just during Pride Month, but all year round.

Our Charlotte HQ was abuzz recently with 70 leaders from across our businesses, who gathered for Leadership lab: two days of collaboration, thought-provoking discussions, and a unique team-building exercise–the Guacamole Challenge. Programming featured insightful presentations from our own leaders like VP of Creative Charlie DeMarco, who led a deep dive on Ai, and special guests, including McKinsey's Jenny Cordina and Jess Buchter, who shared their expertise on consumer healthcare experiences, and Yale's Dr. Jorge O. Moreno, MD, Dipl. ABOM, who joined our own Kori Bivens and Erin Cross to discuss the potential impact of weight-loss drugs. The Guacamole Challenge tasked teams with leveraging each member's unique strengths to create pop-up restaurant concepts, complete with clever names, logos, and signature dishes that left all craving more. Under the leadership of CEO Jeff Hallock and Presidents Courtney Jeffus, Steve Olin, and Ken Malley, the event fostered an atmosphere of transparency, collaboration, and the belief that by working together, we can build a better way to health and wellbeing for all.
