Happy Monday! I wanted to (finally) share my 2023 Summer Founders Demo Day Pitch. If you didn't know.. over last summer I had the privilege of participating in Summer Founders, a 12-week program that is designed for students with early stage startups to work on their ventures. Being a student entrepreneur, it can get quite frustrating when you have a vision and the passion to solve a problem but might not see the amount of progress on your startup that you want. If I have learned anything from Vince DiFelice & Summer Founders it is that.. 1) it is okay to put the start up down, 2) it is okay to pick it back up, and 3) it is okay to go back to the problem & restart from the beginning!!! Over the next semester, Relief Chronic Care will be going BACK to the problem and its' identified problem owners. The hope is to create customer journey maps to see the full journey of these women with chronic illness, and where Relief can provide the most unique value. Stay tuned!!! https://lnkd.in/eqHJ9g2w

We close out Pender's Summer Hot List with two recommendations on #investing. Jay Rai, an equity #intern at Pender, found William J. O'Neil’s CANSLIM experience-based stock selection technique valuable, as laid out in “How to Make Money in Stocks: A Winning System in Good Times and Bad". He found learning about the seven variables within the CANSLIM strategy has the potential to “... help to narrow down the search for quality companies”. Justin Jacobsen, CFA, Portfolio Manager, recommends checking out AQR's period white papers for “...anyone interested in deepening their understanding of investing based on quantitative data". He highlights the paper on what they call "value spread", or "the spread between cheap and expensive stocks within sectors." Check these and other recommendations out: https://bit.ly/3D1ky3Y If you liked this post, please subscribe for all our content updates: https://bit.ly/3NuyJRU

I hear from founders all the time that they're working so hard in the business that they don't work on the business. This is a big problem. But, maybe an even bigger problem, is when is the last time they've worked on yourself? Founders need to take the time to rejuvenate and connect with other founders. That's what Emerging Prairie's first ever Summer Founder's Retreat is designed around. Learn more and register here. https://lnkd.in/g2H5NABm

Are you looking for a truly unique and differentiated experience for your child this summer? If you are a parent who is looking for ways to expand your child's mind, challenge them to ignite their potential, and find experiences that will make them stand-out from their peers, then Streetwise Lab's online Summer Program is for you. We only select applicants who are committed to pushing themselves outside their comfort zone and want to experience what it feels like to be in a Harvard Business School style class room. I recognize all those words can sound like marketing jargon. They can be easy to dismiss and gloss over. "Do I really need another program or activity for my kid to participate in? What difference is it really going to make? They all say they are special and unique." I get it. You are right to be skeptical and precious with your time/money. But if you know me or know someone who knows me (or even have spent time reading our content/posts) I hope you see this is different. I hope you can trust that what we promise with this program is real. Your child will go through a transformative experience this summer. Our classrooms are unlike anything they've seen before. The energy and the immersive, dynamic nature of the class will change the way they think about learning. They will learn about entrepreneurship and business for sure, which is immensely beneficial to them. But more importantly they will learn to think in a much more sophisticated way, they will begin to have more elevated conversations, and they will have a self-awareness and self-confidence that is extremely uncommon for a middle school student. As a parent isn't that what it is all about? Don't we have to try to put our kids in these types of experiences? I understand the skepticism, but providing an opportunity like this for your child is too important to dismiss. I hope you take some time to get know us and our program. And when you do I hope you realize that this is truly something unique that can massively benefit your child. If that is the case, hit the link below and start the application process. Our program kicks off June 30th and I sincerely hope your child is part of it. https://lnkd.in/gn3xNHnN
