Recently I had someone say to me "Salespeople are like cats" 😂 Best. Comment. Ever. It was National Hug a Cat Day on Tuesday. It's a known fact that if you love cats, you have to tell everyone as much as possible how much you love cats. Why? Because it takes quite the effort to wait for them to like you on their terms. Cats and salespeople can be: -aloof -demanding -independent They can also be: -Persistent and Patient -Adaptable and Resourceful -Relationship Builders I'll take every opportunity to hug my cat AND spread awareness of how to help fellow felines (and canines). I have had cats my entire life, pictured is Augustus who we lost a few years ago-a miniature Persian with the biggest heart. Sales and Presence is dedicated to creating a positive influence, and as a testament to our commitment, a portion of all earnings is contributed to charitable causes year-round through S&P Cares. This includes several organizations dedicated to give pets the lives they deserve. The PEDIGREE Foundation funds nonprofit shelters and rescues in the United States with programs that support dog adoption. Program Development Grants of $10,000 to $15,000 are provided in the following categories: foster programs that move dogs temporarily into loving homes while they await adoption; behavior programs that help with socialization, training, and stress relief so dogs can move beyond behaviors that might hinder their adoption; and transport programs that move dogs from areas of overpopulation to areas where they’re more likely to be adopted. Say hello to my favourite team member Conner! I adopted Conner from a shelter a few years ago and it has changed both of our lives. Having him in my life has taught me so many valuable lessons, including: 1. How to live in the Present: - Conner is a master at living in the moment. He reminds me to appreciate the now, letting go of past worries and future anxieties. 2. Forgiveness and Letting Go: - Don’t you just love how easily dogs forgive and let go of grudges? Holding onto resentment only weighs us down. 3. Play and Have Fun: - Conner often reminds me to enjoy the simple pleasures, be silly and have fun. 4. Adaptability: - I love how dogs easily adapt to different situations. Embracing change and being flexible allows us to face any challenge heading our way. Calling all my fellow dog lovers. How are you spending your free time? In the agency of others? Giving to your local community? Finding happiness in giving your time and energy for free to a cause? What’s keeping you from giving one hour to your local homeless shelter, food bank or dog shelter? You can create change, you can have an impact on your local communities and you can teach your kids to give because in giving we receive (see YouTube, Adam Grant “Takers” if you’re not convinced). This is Toby. Each Saturday I volunteer at the dog shelter and he brings me so much joy to walk and play with. He needs a home and until someone adopts him, myself and our volunteers are all he has. And what a great dog he is! Can you imagine what the world would be like if we all gave a little to our communities? Go do something for your community (and stop with the excuses, try it)! Over the weekend, this little nugget arrived at our home. A six-month old French Bulldog puppy who had been surrendered by her owner and needed rescuing 🐶 💕 I volunteer for a Bulldog rescue here in Florida. As a foster parent for dogs in need, we take them into our home, rehabilitate them medically and behaviorally, and prepare them for adoption into their fur-ever home. Volunteering is one of those acts that fills my cup. I get to make a difference for dogs in need and also help match them with their perfect adopters. The addition of a new dog in the adopters' homes fills their life with joy, and it feels good to extend my ripple effect of joy in a different way besides the work I do in my professional life. Having a healthy #worklifebalance is one of the reasons why I am able to volunteer. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Giving back in meaningful ways is important to me. It helps me live a more fulfilled life. Being a mom to a human was not in the cards for me, but being a mom to precious doggies in need is... and I love it 💖 If you #volunteer for an organization that brings you a sense of #fulfillment, I'd love to know about it in the comments.
