And just like that. . .#GFNI 2024 is now history. As everyone packs up their sunscreen and #AmbitionintoAction tools to take home, we’re reflecting on several key takeaways that came out of our time together. This isn’t “goodbye;” It’s “See you soon” as we continue our individual and collective #nuclearindustry innovation journeys. Safe travels, everyone! We're going to brag a bit. Last week at GSMA WAS, the Director of a leading global vendor brand, and ROCCO Executive member shared with me the value he places on our annual 5G study when engaging with customers seeking 5GSA products and services. He affectionately referred to it as the "5G Roaming Bible" and ensured me his entire directorial team reviews it each year upon publication. According to him, our findings from the mobile operator community emphasises the need for mobile operators to take calculated risks to drive progress in 5GSA, rather than settling for only a handful of 5GSA networks per continent. Last week I also heard that at best maybe only one MNO in each country will achieve the 5GSA capability for roaming. This seems highly unlikely because what usually drives new generations of service more than anything else is market competition, but on reflection they may have a point. The demand must be there.
