I'm preparing my Swedish 4x4 reliable car for an annual trip to Hungary today, because I'll be attending the Superweek Analytics Summit, which is the conference to be if you are into digital analytics. This is its 10th edition and I was so frustrated I couldn't attend the first two that it was one of the reasons why I quit and joined the team where the great boss Ivan Kovačević said to me: "Of course you should attend the Superweek! It would be weird if you don't attend, because we need someone in our team who actually understands most of the topics covered there" 😀 I've been attending that conference ever since, I've met great experts there and all of them are open to any contact, so we are usually in contact throughout the year. I won't tag all of them, because this post is not about tagging, but about the personal experience. This is the most expensive conference for me to attend, but the last one I would ever cut off my budget. I even pay the ticket for myself for the past couple of years because the knowledge, skills and the mindset I get up there enables me to easily afford that ticket. But it is not about the price. They say that if you are the smartest person in the room then you are in the wrong room. Whenever I attend the Superweek I feel this is the room I belong to, the room where I want to be, because I am NOT the smartest person over there. Even better, most of the people who are in that room think of it the same way, which is great. Everyone in every field of interest should find such room where they can grow and learn from the best in the field as an opposite to be stuck in your own village thinking you are the greatest. I'm going there by car and I'm driving every year, thinking of what we will be talking about this year and which topics we will cover, where our industry is heading to... Every year everything I prepared in my head simply vanishes in the first couple of hours and I'm sucked into great conversations, new paths, new ways of thinking of the same problems, new problems I didn't know I have... The whole conference reshapes my way of thinking about the industry and my job for the next year or so, so it would be stupid from me not to attend such event. Superweek Analytics Summit here I come! 📊📈🤓🚗 TL;DR; I'm about to start my several hours drive to a great conference that helps me be better person and specialist. Hope you will all find such conference for your expertise, but please don't organize one, because you will probably not be able to attend lectures :) P.S. I will tag Juliana Jackson here, because who knows what prank I might expect up there if I don't tag her 🤣🤣🤣❤ In case anyone is curious about the conference agenda, here it is:
