Congrats to Chip Ganassi Racing and Alex Palou for the INDYCAR win this weekend. We loved hosting our friends from Goosehead Insurance Agency and seeing all those Root hats in the winner's circle. And that Root logo looks pretty good on that back tire!

Disappointing... One photo and one word that just about sums up last weekend at Croft. 🔴 Qualifying- P24 ⚪️ Race 1 - P21 ⚫️ Race 2 - P22 I'm a bit late with a post-weekend update after Sunday as I've been taking some time to reflect on my performance. The boys and girls at EXCELR8 Motorsport and in particular Dev, my no.1 mechanic, once again gave me a great car but I just couldn't drag a competitive lap time out of it all weekend. Coming away from the weekend with another set of results that are a long way off where I'd hoped to be is difficult. It's hard to accept that you're perhaps not quite as good as you hoped you'd be, especially up against such strong competition, but that's where we are. All that being said, I recognise how fortunate I am to be able to do this at all and I've worked hard to be on this grid. We'll keep moving forward and with a few changes being made in the background around race prep and training I'm still confident that we'll be able to find whatever it is that's missing at the moment. Next up is Donington park, my favourite circuit on the calendar. Progress in sport as in business is often hard to achieve but we're pushing hard and I'm sure better results are coming! 📈 📸 Jakob Ebrey Photography ___________________________________ ⬇️ Proudly partnered with ⬇️ Verisk Claims Cogent Hire BHR Assist Insurance Services Limited We Are Doodlebug Group 1 BMW & BMW Motorrad Kevin Appleton Lexham Insurance Syrinx Systems Limited OceanStrive Limited GML Consulting Ltd Bad Boy Tuning ___________________________________ #mini #minicooper #bmwmini #minichallenge #btcc #britishtouringcars #motorsport #motorracing #hospitality #sponsorship #partnership #marketing

Plymouth completely redesigned the Belvedere/Satellite/Road Runner series for 1971 with a handsome fuselage theme. The coupes and hardtops were now quite different from the more conventional sedans and wagons. The two-doors had a low recessed grille surrounded by a loop bumper, flared fenders and a high trunk. 1971 Plymouth Road Runners could be recognized by the “ladder stripe” running down the C-pillars. The new Road Runner Hardtop was shorter, but the wheelbase was longer. Performance was being eroded by insurance rates and emissions issues, and this would be the last year for the high-powered engines. The muscle car party coming to an end, and there were no more Superbirds no convertibles, while the Road Runner and GTX were limited to just one Hardtop model each. Plymouth sold 651,812 units in 1971, nine percent less than 1970, while the industry rose 31 percent overall. As a result, the division dropped from third to sixth place nationally. On a brighter note, Richard Petty came back to drive his signature #43 blue Hemi Road Runner and won his 3rd NASCAR Grand National Championship. Checkout this beauty we appraised for a client. #mopar #musclecars #cars #vintagemopar #roadrunner #americanmusclecar #plymouth #classiccars #classicarvalue #carappraiser #vintagecars #plymouthmusclecar

The first ever race in the history of motorization dates back to July 16, 1878, when two steam-powered vehicles competed in a race of about 201 miles organized along the roads between Green Bay and Madison, in the state of Wisconsin (United States of America). There were 6 entries for the race, but 3 did not show up and 1 arrived late due to a breakdown. Frank. A. Schomer and Anson Farrand on a vehicle called Oshkosh (4,500 kg and 1 gear ratio), at just under 10 kilometers per hour average beats E.P. Cowles on his vehicle called Green Bay machine (6,500 kg and 3 gear ratios). The prize, according to the regulations drawn up - in 1875 - by the organizers, was to be awarded “to the cheapest and most satisfactory substitute for the horse, which is able to travel at least 200 miles on normal road at a speed of not less than 5 miles per hour and which can overcome gradients of 200 feet of elevation gain per mile of road”. The State of Wisconsin, while appreciating Oshkosh's performance, did not consider it worthy of the full amount of the award and awarded the builders only $5,000 (instead of the 10000 declared). Oshkosh, in fact, had won but the Green Bay machine was definitely faster even if he had lost hours and hours to make up for a breakdown. #firstrace #Oshkosh #Greenbay #racetrack #racingdriver #motorsport #drivefastefully #racingcars #racers
