As a Critical Access Hospital, we are required to complete an annual review to be compliant with federal regulations and conditions of participation. More importantly, as a local hospital, it's important to us that we are transparent with our community and share information about our successes and opportunities for improvement. That's why we're making our Critical Access Hospital Annual Report public and why we're sharing it with you. This report includes information about our service volume, type of service, trends, concerns, accomplishments, and more. This report is used by our Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to develop action plans, identify opportunities for improvement, and recognize our successes. Starting to get real.

Fantastic congress. But did you know wath intensive care (ICU) are? It cost 5% of hospital budget, avoid preventable death, allow patients to survive due to support of failing organes (brain, cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, hepatic, hematologic, intestinal functions). The cost of ICU ist at 70% related to the salaries of the multiple people working in as a complementary team. They work day and night for the surviving of patients and accompanying families and nearby. Sepsis is at the heart of intensive care. It cost an half of ICU budget and is the main cause of death. Despite ICU the mortality of sepsis remains between 20 to 50% depending on its gravity. Each year in France (68 millions inhabitants) the equivalent of a town like Lorient, France (# 57 000 people) died from sepsis despite ICU care. Sepsis cause 1 death/5 WHO. It cause much suffering and cost 0.5% of US GDP. #sepsis, #survivingsepsis #sepsisalliance #sepsisawareness
