If you follow my posts, you know there's been a LOT of Haiku Instruments data here recently. Now I need to ask a favor, network. It's a big ask: If you work for or with companies that produce polymers, please share some of our content with your network. A re-share gets us so much more genuine visibility than any amount of boosted / paid content. Sure, I can target folks in technical roles, in mid and upper management. We can get the message out and show videos, data sets, offer demo analysis. The reality is this: a few words from you who know me and know the lengths that I have gone to over the last 5 years to get this company up and off the ground -- those recommendations are crucial to our success. More so than the paid content that gets "impressions" but is just part of the daily scroll. We are launching our new ECLIPSE model later this year. This will effectively replace the Model 575 Intrinsic Viscometer, with a lower footprint, further improved analysis times and solvent use reduction. We are talking now about close to an order of magnitude in savings versus what's out there now. But that is just marketing bluster until it comes from someone in your network. Thanks to everyone that's been a part of the journey so far. I hope to hire 2 new sales positions in 2024, and possibly someone to help with assembly and QA/QC in the manufacturing side.

(5) Our Model 575 Intrinsic Viscometer handles even the toughest samples, like: #PE, #polyethylene: 135°C in tetrahydronaphthalene (aka tetralin) #PP, #polypropylene: 160°C in decahydronaphthalene (aka decalin) #EPDM: 140°C in trichlorobenzene or dichlorobenzene (aka TCB or o-DCB) What's so difficult about polyolefins versus other polymers? The sun, moon and stars have to line up just right. That's why our second system is (pending trademark review) called Eclipse. With each polyolefin sample injection taking just 4.5 minutes, there's no better time than now to start saving on your expensive solvents and wondering what is happening to subsequent samples during long analysis times you're used to with... that *other* brand of Intrinsic Viscosity Analyzer. Keep it hot during dissolution -- but not too hot or you'll degrade. Keep it hot during transfer -- but don't move it too quickly or you'll shear. Keep it hot during the measurement, or you'll get signal drift. Zero fiddling with the signal on these viscograms below. Just pure, stable measurements of sample, and a wash to show there's no carryover. Filled samples? No problem. Our inline hot filtration and automated backflush means no more downtime from clogged lines. The next step? Request to send in demo samples for analysis. INEOS Styrolution is temporarily shutting down the plant for maintence. This has caused a major shortage for TOTM and TMA. The bidding wars have driven the price to outrageous figures. California Chemical has managed to secure some material and is working very hard with customers to ensure product allocation and timely deliveries. Trioctyl trimellitate (TOTM), is a clear oily liquid. It is a primary branched monomeric plasticizer for vinyl homopolymer and copolymer resins which has extremely low volatility. Trimellitic Anhydride (TMA), is used as a curing agent for epoxy and other resins, in vinyl plasticizers, paints and coatings, polymers, polyesters, agricultural chemicals, dyes and pigments, pharmaceuticals, surface active agents, modifiers, intermediates, and specialty chemicals.
