Ecora Resources boosted by cobalt production ramp up @EcoraResources #LSE #TSX #OTCQX #ECOR #ECRAF. Ecora Resources PLC (LSE:ECOR, TSX:ECOR, OTCQX:ECRAF) portfolio income dropped by 10% in its latest quarter as the contribution from its coking coal royalty at Kestrel fell sharply as expected. Without Kestrel, where mining shifted to areas outside of Ecora’s royalty, income in the three months to end September 2024 rose by 4% to US$5 million helped by an almost tripled contribution from the cobalt operation at Voisey Bay. Great recognition for our friends from Helios 👍 Highlights two things: 1) Human pursuit & ingenuity working on tough challenges like in this case generating oxygen under the harsh conditions of extraterrestrial environments often breeds breakthrough innovations in other fields. Like Helios discovering a novel process with the potential to produce steel (and other metals) not "only" green (no direct CO2 emissions, high resource- and energy-efficiency) but at the unit economics of coal-based blast furnaces. 2) Decarbonization doesn't necessarily...shouldn't...mustn't mean deindustrialization, degrowth. On the contrary, let's go for the development and implementation of technologies that are really sustainable, allowing us to "save" climate and environment without undermining the foundation of modern civilization and progress. That enable us to produce with less externalities and costs (or at least at given costs). It's possible with the right incentives and mindset. As Helios is about to prove. 🖖

Funding for early-stage exploration is a huge challenge for the mining sector, which is facing a severe discovery deficit at precisely the time we need to find more metals to feed the energy transition.    BHP’s answer to this acute challenge is BHP Xplor, a global accelerator program targeting innovative, early-stage mineral exploration companies looking for the critical resources necessary to drive the energy transition. Companies are invited to apply for purses of US$500,000 in equity-free funding through the program and Xplor will position itself to provide ongoing support for systematic exploration on the back of any early success. 'Diggers: Australian Vanadium focusing on organic growth' - Adam Orlando from Mining.com.au interviewed AVL's CEO, Graham Arvidson in relation to the future of vanadium in Australia. Graham highlighted that many elements of the 'pit-to-battery' scheme are scalable, with a great opportunity for growth in the sector. VSUN Energy, AVL's wholly owned subsidiary, plays an integral role in this growth. Developing the Australian market for vanadium flow batteries for long duration energy storage for 'a very large energy market with a lack of commercially-proven technology to fill that void.' Emmerson Resources, CuFe Ltd and Tennant Minerals have formed a Strategic Alliance to collaborate on their #copper, #gold and critical metals development opportunities in the Tennant Creek Region of the Northern Territory. The Alliance aims include: ▪️ Assess the development options including the viability of a single multi-user processing facility in the high-grade Tennant Creek region. ▪️ Completing a Scoping Study on development options for the Emmerson and Tennant Minerals 100% owned deposits and the CuFe operated JV deposits (CuFe 55% / Gecko Mining Company P/L 45%) ▪️ Upon completing the Scoping Study, undertake a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) on the preferred option(s) to develop the deposits ▪️ Investigate potential synergies with other explorers and developers in the region ▪️ A commitment to work collaboratively including joint funding of Alliance activities ▪️ Activities to commence in Q4 2024. Tennant Minerals CEO, Vincent Algar commented: “The production history of Tennant Creek copper and gold supports the shared facility model we plan to investigate in this collaboration.
