At AstraZeneca, we are leading a revolution to redefine cancer care, with the goal of creating a future where cancer is no longer a cause of death. But we can’t do it alone. Cancer is a complex challenge that will not be solved by a single company, country or entity and achieving a goal of this magnitude will require collaboration from us all. A united approach, across governments, health systems, researchers, patient support groups, and companies like ours is fundamental. This is the conversation we're driving at #ESMO2024. What do you hope for the future of cancer? #WhatScienceCanDo

In Asia-Pacific (APAC), clinical outcomes for cancer shows an estimated mortality-to-incidence ratio (MIR) of 0.52, which is comparatively higher than the ratio of 0.32 observed in the West. APAC continues to face a growing burden of cancer, imposing clinical, societal, and economic burden. However, there is promising news with the emergence of a new innovative technology, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), which seems pivotal in addressing the cancer burden in APAC. Explore Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed)'s latest paper, which mentions the status of NGS-based cancer care in APAC and steps to enhance access, featuring a pioneering regional value assessment framework. Collaborative efforts fostered by NCSA’s Health Innovation Program Office (HIPO) are making significant strides in responding to pancreatic cancer. Researchers from Mayo Clinic and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are finding innovative ways to match specific chemotherapies to individual patients, potentially revolutionizing cancer care. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer, with limited treatment options and a low survival rate. However, through the collective expertise and resources brought together by HIPO, researchers are gaining insights into early responses to chemotherapy. By leveraging cutting-edge imaging technology and interdisciplinary collaboration, they aim to tailor treatments faster and more effectively to each patient's unique needs. The ongoing efforts of HIPO and its collaborators offer hope for speeding up the process of identifying the most effective treatment strategies for pancreatic cancer. #CancerResearch #HIPO #PancreaticCancer #MedicalInnovation #Collaboration #HealthcareScience
