Made of a ring of 36 cells, each equipped with a rotary servo and sensors, Loopy is able to react and move in response to its environment. What's truly remarkable is that each cell acts independently, responding only to its two immediate neighbors. As the servos rotate, the angles between the cells determine Loopy's overall shape.
