🔬Exciting News! 📚 I am thrilled to announce the publication of our latest paper, "Targeting Angiotensinogen With N-Acetylgalactosamine–Conjugated Small Interfering RNA to Reduce Blood Pressure," authored by Dien Ye, Edwyn O. Cruz-López, Ho-Chou Tu, Ivan Zlatev, and A.H. Jan Danser. 📅 Published: October 19, 2023 📖 Journal: Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology Read the full open access on: https://lnkd.in/edXMPn5T Our paper provides a comprehensive review of AGT small interfering RNA in preclinical models, comparing it to classical RAS blockade with ACE inhibitors, AT1 receptor antagonists, and AGT suppression with antisense oligonucleotides. We also address the latest information about clinical trials and safety of this novel antihypertensive approach. #Hypertension #MedicalResearch #HealthcareInnovation 🩺💡

An excellent new addition to our capabilities in BioPharma. This new laboratory could help us learn much more about the genetics of diseases in respiratory and immunology, providing many promising new targets for our R&D pipeline. #RandD #Innovation #Respiratory #Immunology
We're expanding our drug discovery capabilities through a collaborative new functional genomics laboratory supporting our R&D efforts exploring the connections between genetics and chronic diseases. Through partnership with the Medical Research Council and the Milner Therapeutics Institute at the University of Cambridge, the lab will support open collaboration between academia and industry for researchers across the UK. 📢I am very happy and proud to share our latest research article! In this study, we aimed to systematically investigate the differences between fetal and adult Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) and MSC-derived Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) at the phenotypic, RNA, and protein levels. I specially thank to Cecilia Götherström for being a great and supportive mentor! 💐 Thanks all authors for their effort and contributions! Yuk Kit Lor, Fawaz Abomaray, PhD, Samir EL Andaloussi, Maria Pernemalm, Nidhi Sharma, Daniel W Hagey, André Görgens, Manuela O Gustafsson, Katarina Le Blanc, Mawaddah Asad Toonsi, Lilian Walther Jallow, Cecilia Götherström 🔎 Key findings: -Fetal MSCs are in a more undifferentiated state at the transcriptomic, proteomic, and cellular levels, and that they possess a greater bone formation and regenerative capacity compared to adult MSCs. -We also show that the active pathways in fetal and adult MSCs are distinctly different, mirroring their developmental origin and potential in regenerative medicine. #stemcells #stromalcells #extracellularvesicles #proteomic #transcriptomic

We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Ashleigh Riegler, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, to our NanoString Technologies Customer Experience Lab. Dr. Riegler has been tirelessly working on the front lines of COVID-19 research, focusing specifically on Mycology in intubated COVID-19 patients with secondary mold infections. During her visit, she dove deeper into our CosMx SMI technology, which she is utilizing in her groundbreaking research. She is using our platform to spatially study iron concentrations in relation to these fungal infections, seeking to understand the crucial role that iron plays in infection outcomes. Her innovative approach includes comparing the gene expression of iron-loaded versus iron-low macrophages to gain new insights and hopefully develop more effective treatments. We are proud to support such important research and excited to see the results of Dr. Riegler's work. Stay tuned for more updates! #biotechnology #research #covid19 #mycology #geneexpression #nanotechnology #ironresearch #NanoStringTechnologies #CosMxSMI #CustomerExperienceLab #UAB This post may include information regarding CosMx™ SMI products for RNA detection, which products are not available in the member states of the European Unified Patent Court, as further described here - https://bit.ly/498JPIB.
