How do you maintain work-life balance while on business trips? Share your top tip in a comment. One of my favorites is going for a jog around the hotel, especially if it's near the ocean. I know that I'm wearing a shirt from my previous company, but it's a sustainable choice. It's important not to discard clothing that's still in good condition; instead, consider recycling it. #sustainability #worklifebalance #recycling

Our brand value, ‘Be Responsible’ guides our practices at AllSaints, with our responsibility to do right by our planet being a cornerstone of this value. We have been lucky to have a dedicated ESG team for just over two years now lead by Sally Williamson who have been the driving force behind our sustainability progress. With Sally currently on maternity leave, we were delighted for Stephen King to join us last year to lead team ESG! This Earth Day, we caught up with Stephen to learn a little bit more about him and what sustainability initiative he’s most excited about at AllSaints in the upcoming year! Tell us a little bit about yourself “I'm from just outside of Dublin in Ireland and started in retail before I left secondary school, so about 14 years now! About half of that time I've been working in sustainability. I absolutely love this industry and feel lucky to have a job that I really enjoy. I have what can only be described as an interesting blend of hobbies: rugby and exercise, nature, food, surfing and most recently have been trying my hand at making my own clothes at home.” What step are you most proud of in AllSaints’ sustainability journey to date? “I think having joined the business only eight months ago, I'm in a privileged position to see the benefits of hard work done by many others. As a product-driven and focused business, where the majority of our environmental impacts are, it's been really inspiring to see the progress already made on using better materials. Organic or recycled cotton for example, is used as a matter of fact, not a nice-to-have.” What move on are you most excited about in 2024? “The most important thing any of us can do is get better use out of clothes and shoes we already own. Businesses can and should do more to help customers care for and repair their products So excitingly, in a few weeks' time we'll be launching a free leather repair service. Initially just focused in London but we hope to roll this out much further in the future.” #WeAreAllSaints

Taking it back to when I headed to THG HQ to discuss all things wellness with their employees and how we can begin to improve our lifestyle through nutrition, fitness and most importantly mindset and surrounding yourself with the right people / things. How can we optimise our body and mind to be the best version of ourselves? This will improve relationships, performance in the workplace and so much more which in turn just makes life so much better. Reaching your potential is the least you deserve, but it takes work just like anything else. 1 body, 1 mind, that has to carry you through the whole journey so the idea that we don’t look after it is crazy. Do we treat our businesses in this way? And if we did, how would they perform? Answer this to yourself. I’m on a mission to help people become optimal in a world that needs it more than ever before 🌍 THG

#ThePowerofDoingGood puts the spotlight this week on #IngvarKamprad, founder of IKEA. This Swedish visionary believed in democratizing and decentralizing decision-making in his company. He led by example, both personally and professionally, and created a company that not only decorates nearly every home, but also has a strong corporate culture of employees committed to its founder's purpose. Here are his top 5 quotes: ➡️ "Most things remain undone. Glorious future!” ➡️ “Happiness is not reaching your goal. Happiness is being on the way". ➡️ “You can do so much in 10 minutes time. Ten minutes, once gone, are gone for good. Divide your life into 10-minute units and sacrifice as few of them as possible in meaningless activity". ➡️ “Simplicity and common sense should characterize planning and strategic direction". ➡️ “Only those who are asleep make no mistakes”. Sustainability in sports events. Evolving. Progressing. Perhaps, ideas that the workplace can learn from. 💡 In most trail run events nowadays, runners are expected to carry their own reusable cups, flasks or bottles. As per photo above. For topping up their hydration needs at checkpoints. Something not too commonly practised - at least in this part of the world - in a pre-covid era. No single use cups are being provided by race organisers. Now, can we take this concept and apply it in workplace events? Perhaps, not for all events but let's start at e.g. conferences and symposiums. Inform attendees to bring their own bottles and flasks prior to. Am sure such practices to reduce waste may already have started, but my hope is to see more. What sustainable practices would you recommend to reduce waste at work events? #sustainability #wastereduction #sports #trailrunning #environment

🌍 The Time for Sustainability: Timex's ReWound Program ⌚ Timex launches ReWound, a first-of-its-kind sustainability program. Open to US customers, this groundbreaking initiative 🚀 invites people to send their old watches to Timex. Watches are then expertly restored and resold on their dedicated ReWound online shop. Unrepairable watches get repurposed into new products, ensuring no watch components end up in landfills. 🔄♻️ Aligned with Timex’s broader vision, by 2025, the goal is for 50% of its watches to be made with eco-friendly components 🌿 as part of a commitment to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net-Zero by 2050. 🎯 Here's what BrainTrust members are saying... Oliver Guy 🚀 "This initiative potentially ticks so many boxes for consumers – sustainability and the retro items trend being two big appeals combined with the desire for something unique." Brian Cluster "This is not a huge game change in the world of watches at retail but Timex has become a first mover and can be considered innovative in launching this sustainability program." Melissa Minkow "I love this. Every brand that sits adjacent to luxury should do something like this." What steps has your company taken toward sustainability? 🤔 Share in the comments! #Sustainability #TimexReWound

Mangat Wellness's Inspire Framework : Corporate Series Day 4: 'What would you do if ...' What would you do if corporates neglected to embrace circular economy principles? This question underscores the critical importance of aligning with the THIRD PILLAR of the INSPIRE Framework: #Simplify #Processes for #Efficiency. Drawbacks of Neglecting Circular Economy: 1) Increased #Environmental Impact: Neglecting to redesign products and promote repairability leads to higher resource consumption and environmental degradation. 2) Resource #Depletion: Without prioritizing material recycling, there's a risk of depleting natural resources, affecting ecosystems and future generations. 3) #Waste Accumulation: Products that aren't recyclable contribute to landfill waste and pollution, exacerbating global waste management challenges. 4) Economic #Inefficiency: A linear economy approach is less cost-effective than a circular economy model, leading to higher resource costs and economic inefficiencies. 5) #Missed #Innovation Opportunities: Neglecting circular economy principles stifles innovation in sustainable technologies and practices, hindering economic growth and competitiveness. Nature-Inspired Wellness at Mangat Wellness: At Mangat Wellness, we embrace the healing power of nature by conducting sessions in the park. This approach not only reduces our environmental impact but also enhances the therapeutic benefits of our wellness programs. 1) #Environmental #Impact: By opting for outdoor sessions, we minimize energy consumption and carbon footprint associated with indoor facilities, promoting sustainability in our operations. 2) #Educational #Opportunity: Our park sessions provide a platform to discuss mindfulness and gratitude towards our environment, and all its resources. Connecting with nature fosters a deeper appreciation for sustainable living and environmental stewardship. Celebrating Real #Freedom: This 4th of July, let's celebrate freedom by committing to sustainable practices and embracing the healing power of nature. By integrating circular economy principles and promoting mindfulness in our wellness approach, we contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future for all. Join the Movement: Share your commitment to sustainability and wellness. Together, let's lead the way towards environmental stewardship and holistic well-being. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #InspireFramework #4thOfJuly #ReduceReuseRecycle Stay tuned as we continue to explore each element of the INSPIRE Framework: INSPIRE priorities with clarity NAVIGATE strategies with purpose SIMPLIFY processes for efficiency PERFORM tasks with determination ITERATE for continuous improvement RECHARGE to maintain energy EMPOWER teams for sustained success
