TIACA Air Cargo and Logistics Regional Forum to be held for the first time in Central Asia From June 19th to 21st, 2024, the Republic of Kazakhstan will host, for the first time, the Air Cargo and Logistics Regional Forum. The event will be held under the auspices of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) with the support of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Civil Aviation Committee. It will be co-organized by the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. The Cargo Forum will take place within the framework of the 2nd Aviation Talks and will be themed 'Silk Road in the Sky – Kazakhstan Air Cargo Hub.' Participants will engage in discussions regarding key aspects of the air cargo industry, including transit potential, multimodal transportation, innovations and digitalization in cargo transport, airport infrastructure, logistics centers, efficient customs procedures, sustainable aviation fuel, cooperation with international air carriers, and investments in training and personnel. The Forum is expected to engage stakeholders across the entire air cargo logistics chain, both at international and regional levels. It serves as a key event for sharing experiences, networking, and addressing current industry challenges. With the rapid growth of globalization, the development of cargo aviation plays a crucial role in modern logistics and trade and stands as a key element in Kazakhstan’s multimodal logistics strategy. The development of cargo aviation in Kazakhstan not only contributes to its integration into the global economy but also creates new opportunities for transit and logistics infrastructure development. This, in turn, acts as a catalyst for economic growth and reinforces the country’s international positioning. “We are excited to support economic growth and promote a flourishing and expanded logistics industry by working with the AAK to organize a first-class conference, which will bring together over 300 decision-makers from the local community and across the globe to network, showcase their expertise and solutions, as well as to learn and debate pressing issues affecting the Central Asian region”, said Steven Polmans, TIACA Chair. The detailed programme of the event will be published on the website of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan on 15 March this year. Pre-registration is required to participate in the TIACA Regional Forum and will be available until 15 May 2024. To participate in the Forum as a speaker, please email [email protected] by 15 April 2024. To register in the Forum as an external participant, please follow the link https://lnkd.in/dQA92dkf. Registration of participants from Kazakhstan will be carried out by the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. To register, please email [email protected]. For media accreditation, please contact the press service of the ААК by phone 8(775)6006093 and email: [email protected].

North Macedonia and Serbia Team Up for Enhanced Rail Connectivity North Macedonia and Serbia, are set to embark on a collaboration that will revolutionize cross-border rail transportation. On Friday, November 17th, the Ministers of Transport and Communications of North Macedonia, Blagoj Bochvarski, and Serbia, Goran Vesić, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a high-speed rail line connecting the two countries. This ambitious project signifies a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and bolstering economic ties between the two nations. The 185-kilometer rail line, spanning from the border crossing Tabanovce in North Macedonia to Belgrade, will significantly reduce travel times. With an estimated travel time of 120 minutes, the railway will operate at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour (km/h), offering a more efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. The MoU outlines the shared vision of both countries to leverage this infrastructure development to foster trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. The railway will serve as a catalyst for economic growth, connecting key economic centers and facilitating the movement of goods and services. The project, estimated to cost around 1.5 billion euros, is expected to commence in 2025 and be completed by 2030. The European Union is expected to extend financial support to facilitate the realization of this project. #NorthMacedoniaSerbiaRail #HighSpeedRail #RegionalDevelopment #BalkanCollaboration #EconomicGrowth
