AVERE welcomes the European Commission's #2040 #climate target recommendations 🇪🇺 👍 We especially support that... ✅ #Emissions in the transport sector are set to decrease by around 80% in 2040 (vs 2015 levels) 🚘 ✅ #Electrification of the sector is to be quadrupled over 2031-2040, while the rise of #BEVs and #ZEVs in the fleets is projected to be 60% for cars and 40% for vans and #HDVs by 2040 ⚡ ✅ Transformation is to be led by full integration of the sector in the electricity #grid, the development of #CriticalRawMaterials supply chains and the establishment of a #skilled workforce 💪 We now call for concrete actions to accelerate this electrification process. 🆕 Some good news for the transport industry The revised #AFIR regulation sets ambitious targets for electric truck charging infrastructure in Europe. 🔌 🚛 Trucks become more "green" and CO2 emissions will be significantly reduced. 👉 According to the regulation, EU member states are obliged to build publicly accessible chargers every 60 km along major #EU motorways. This is a step towards a coherent charging network. 👉 Charging hubs for trucks will be available in every major city, and secure truck parks will be equipped with charging stations. This is good news also for #DBSchenker, where we are implementing our decarbonisation plan by 2040 and continuously equipping our fleet with electric cars. #Transport #Sustainabiity
