Psst… This is what I didn’t see coming about podcasting. 👇 And it was the first question asked to me out of the gate. (gulp) “How has 500 conversations changed you?” Let me set the stage. My friends Ronnie Justin invited me to their RKD Thinkers podcast last week (p.s. huge celebration on episode 1-0-0, fellas!) and their one goal of this convo was just to talk about my journey. There wasn’t any prep - by design. (woohoo!) Just friends talking over coffees and riffing on life. But these two do their digging.  They do their research.  And they had thoughtfully prepared some questions that really dug into my experiences. And in that intention - a beautiful conversation unfolded. (I’ll link it up, below!) but it also knocked me off my rocker and made me think. So they came out with a zinger. I’ll paraphrase… “How has the 500 podcast conversations changed you?” Here's the thing. I think its easy to breeze through life and forget to take stock of how we are evolving changing and morphing through experiences. It’s easier to take in experiences on one dimension than mining them for deeper clues of what happened within you on a deeper level. But in the safety of this space they created. I went there. And to be honest ya’ll… when i think about how the podcast changed me… it’s like opening a Pandora’s box of all the changes that resulted from pushing record for that first time. I’ll link up the conversation in the comments (and get ready because they really get me talking) but the reality is this, and hope you hear this whether you can listen to the whole thing or not: There is a superpower in listening without expectation. You can’t not be changed when you choose to sit down and listen (really listen) to other people’s stories. To the words. The body language. The things said and unsaid that are being communicated. And then being open to not just hearing those things, but receiving them. Because in the podcast chair we’ve heard stories from people that have taken us all over the map. Pain. Heartbreak. Fear. Success. Hope. Uplift. The darkest moments of humanity. And the threads of everyday life that showcase the love of humanity in its simplest forms (ie. philanthropy!) And in those stories. I’ve been really changed. And am changing. My worldview is bigger. My heart is bigger. My realization that we need each other is bigger. And most importantly that every. single. one. of us. Really, deeply matter. Your story isn’t too small. Your nudges aren’t insignificant. Everyone has something so important to offer to this world. And I hope you don’t bypass that statement without feeling the weight at which I’m saying it to you, friend. You have something so important to offer to this world. Let me know what this is stirring up for you. And if you want to catch my full interview on the RKD podcast, I’ll link it up below. Hope you're having a great week ✌ RKD Group / We Are For Good
