By recognizing these signs, knowing how to start a conversation & where to turn for help, you have the power to make a difference and save a life. Course Information: Know the Signs is a statewide suicide prevention social marketing campaign built on three key messages: Know the signs. Find the words. Reach out. This campaign is intended to educate Californians on recognizing the warning signs of suicide, finding the words to have a direct conversation with someone in crisis, and finding professional help and resources. This training is made possible by Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health, Prevention & Early Intervention, through the Mental Health Services Act and presented by RCCD Student Health Services. Vincent Do, a Vietnamese-American, is a computer science major who will be attending UC San Diego in the fall. The son of South Vietnamese immigrants, Do was fascinated by technology despite having limited access to devices. He began to build a computer during the summer of 2022 and also started taking classes at Moreno Valley College. With the finished computer in hand, he had a powerful means of getting his work completed, the opportunity to game with friends. and a newfound respect for the infinite possibilities through computer science. Laura Ruiz began her educational journey in the fall of 2021 with a room full of thoughts about life. As a mother of four beautiful children, each at varying ages and stages, she felt the need to expand beyond the role of just being a mom. Enrolling at RCC was more than just a decision; it became a pivotal turning point. Despite her challenges as a single parent, she thrived in her studies. Her passion for helping children led her to dream of becoming a professional child therapist. The MVC Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 7 at 6 pm at College Park. We're celebrating the academic achievements of our graduating Class of 2024. Details at buff.ly/3Rabwte. 1. Graduates: Arrive early to check in and prepare for procession. Late arrivals will not be able to participate. 2. Guests: Parking is free. Guests should arrive together as seats cannot be saved. All guests should be seated by 5:45 pm. Standing space is not available. Guests may NOT bring their own portable furniture. Guests may not have items that obstruct the view of other guests or cause noise. 3. Everyone: Prepare for warm weather. Bring water bottles and wear sunscreen. 4. An ADA accessible section will be available to guests managing disabilities, plus one companion. 5. The drop-off and pickup location for ride share is Lasselle Elementary. The ceremony will be live streamed on YouTube for those that cannot make it.
