People Connector | Career Matchmaker | Insurance Geek 😉 A recruiter to know if you're an insurance professional sick of hiring/job search BS. 👊
I love this sentiment Gary V shares. He is very pro-employee, and talks about supporting his people along their journey, and not being disgruntled when they move on from his company to do something else. In this clip, he's speaking specifically to people building a business, but I think this also applies to folks leaving your company to upgrade to a bigger/more challenging job opportunity, too. Gary's logic is - Even if they ultimately move on from your company, there's huge value in these strong contributors having a pit stop for a few years at your company along their journey. Get what you can from them, and then bless and release. Don't stifle them. "You can't stop someone who's on their way to winning anyway," he says. Freaking brilliant. 👊 I experienced this first hand. I was building a business on the side and it was not well received by my company, even though it had no conflict or impact on my 9-5. In fact, the networking I did actually helped me grow sales in both roles. It was not met with support, but rather was frowned upon. Ultimately, I left to do my own thing anyway. Would I still have left to start another business? Probably. But, this certainly gave me the kick in the ass I needed to shove me out the door and get started. 😉 #dowhatsbestforyou #supportyourteam #gratetfulpeopleworkharder #happypeopleworkharder #greatemployer #greatboss #sidehustle #opportunity #entrepreneur #recruiterlife
Stop trying to “stop” your winners .. help yourself winners .. you’ll see.
