Our new study is out in ACS NanoLetters. We show frequency-selective and frequency-tunable detection of teraherz (THz) radiation at ambient conditions in short-channel graphene transistors. Plasmon resonances occuring in such devices are able to survive at room temperature due to the high intrinsic mobility of charge carriers in monolayer graphene. These functional THz photodetectors can be used in a wide range of applications including selective sensing, frequency mixing, signal modulation or nanoscale confinement of light. This paper illustrates the capability to optically detect the electron spin resonance frequencies of boron vacancy centers in hBN flakes as thin as a few atomic layers. #research at the Institut Lumière Matière : SURPRISING EPITAXY OF NANO-MAGNETS Damien LE ROY, Véronique Dupuis and Florent Tournus (team Energy), with Adela Reyes, Guillermo Herrera et Pierre Capiod, former PhDs or postdoc at iLM, and in collaboration with colleagues from INL and SOLEIL & ESRF synchrotrons, have published an article entitled "Preferential orientations of FeRh nanomagnets deposited on a BaTiO3 epitaxial thin film" in the journal Physical Review B. In this article, the authors show how magnetic FeRh nanoparticles deposited on a crystaline surface of BaTiO3 can adopt specific configurations, with a surprisingly unusual epitaxy relationship. This particular structure, due to the interface between oxyde and the FeRh alloy could play a role in the control of magnetic properties of nano-magnets and open the path to original multiferroic systems. more informations : https://lnkd.in/g7NbdpdJ
