On July 4th we celebrate the courage of those men and women who embraced the idea of freedom and indepedence and sacrificed much to earn it. It took over seven years from the time the Declaration of Independence was signed until the day the British surrendered, but those in the halls of Congress, and those who rallied behind such a powerful ideal didn't know how long the task would last. Today we are honored and inspired by those same "self- evident" truths to continue building a more perfect Union, no matter how long the task will take. Have you ever wondered about Cyrillic and its origins or what it looks like? Below you can read the story, and see the original symbols and the ones we're using today (FYI the transition between the two happened very early in its creation)
Today is a special public holiday for us in Bulgaria, the birth of our alphabet. The two brothers, Cyril and Methodius, created our alphabet in the IX century. They are both regarded as the country’s patrons of education and culture. In 1980, Pope John Paul II declared them co-patron saints of Europe. The Cyrillic alphabet is used today in 12 Slavic countries in Eastern Europe and Northern and Central Asia, as well as in non-Slavic countries, such as Mongolia, which adopted it in the 1940s. Celebrate with us :)

This reminds of what we often emphasize at SWEET: 1. Viewing everything as an opportunity, especially our identity, transforms it into a superpower rather than an obstacle. 2. Imagine if patients, colleagues, and ourselves could embrace this perspective consistently. The significance goes beyond words – our beliefs shape our identity, and vice versa, creating a cycle that's challenging to break. The solution lies in realizing we can choose our identity. 3. Beliefs and identity are habitual, and we possess the power to change them. Despite its apparent simplicity, we often live as if we are victims of our thoughts and feelings. The key? Using prompts to observe and separate ourselves from our cognitive functions, reinforcing the idea that we are not bound by our thoughts, beliefs, or identity.
