Cebu Pacific Celebrates Agreement for up to 152 A321neo Aircraft Order with Airbus, RTX's Pratt & Whitney Cebu Pacific (CEB), Airbus, and Pratt & Whitney, held an official ceremony to commemorate a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed for CEB's purchase of up to 152 A321neo aircraft for estimated USD $24 billion (PHP 1.4 trillion) based on list prices, the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history. Pratt & Whitney is an RTX business. The binding MOU covers firm orders for up to 102 A321neo, plus 50 A320neo family purchase rights. The conventional wisdom says shortage = boost rates. But Aircraft financing is a long game. The question should be what is the long term impact once the short term issues are resolved? Exciting news from Pratt & Whitney , MTU Aero Engines and #IAE which successfully tested the V2500 engine with 100% sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) supplied by Neste.   Sustainable aviation fuel reduces greenhouse gas emissions (#GHG) by up to 80% in neat form, compared to using fossil jet fuel. SAF can currently be used blended up to 50% with conventional jet fuel. Once blended it is a drop-in solution, meaning it can be used in existing engines and fuel infrastructure without any modifications.    Tests like this on a V2500 engine which powers a significant fleet of aircraft, demonstrate that SAF can be used in existing engines even in 100% neat form. They also add to the growing body of research to developing future specifications for 100% SAF.   #Neste #NesteMYSAF #Aviation

Development steps in the electrification ⚡ and hydrogen 💧 solutions gets often the biggest headlines in the news and rightfully so: As engineer 🛠 , always intrigued about new technologies and approaches, not to forget that all of these solutions are needed for transforming transportation sector sustainable. However, I think the biggest game changer is hiding in plain sight: combining existing engine technologies ✈ with 100% sustainable fuels 🌱! Especially from this perspective, excited to see this milestone with V2500 and 100% SAF (HEFA-SPK)!
