Thr Effect of Rheum ribes Root (Rhubarb) on Menopausal Hot Flashes: A Randomized Double-Blind, Study-Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Abstract Background and objectives: Hot flashes are one of the most predominant complaints of menopause among women. The main treatment is hormone replacement therapy, which has side effects. Therefore, the use of plants with phytoestrogen has been suggested as an adjunctive treatment. This study aimed to estimate the efficacy of processed rhubarb (Rheum ribes L.) on hot flashes in postmenopausal women. Methods: This double-blind placebo-controlled trial was performed on postmenopausal women who were referred to public health centers at Iran University of Medical Sciences. Ninety postmenopausal women aged over 45 years with menopausal hot flashes were randomly assigned to two groups. The treatment group received 500 mg of encapsulated processed R. ribes twice a day for eight weeks, and the control group received placebo (starch powder) in the same manner. Data were collected using Blatt–Kupperman index at the start of the study, fourth and eighth weeks after the intervention. Descriptive and analytic statistics were used to analyze the data. Results: A total of 74 patients completed the study (39 participants in the intervention group and 35 in the control group). The results showed that R. ribes significantly decreased the mean of flashing in Blatt–Kupperman index four and eight weeks post-intervention (p<0.001). Rheum ribes showed no serious adverse effects. Conclusion: The findings of this study propose that treatment with R. ribes may be considered an adjunctive treatment for hot flashes in postmenopausal women.

Helping Axell Group grow online (and beyond), with Online Marketing. 7 years of scaling brands. Strategist and Consultant for B2B and B2C Brands
𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗮-𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝘀? That’s a common myth that many people believe. But the truth is, Coca-Cola had a huge influence on how we see him today. Before 1931, Santa Claus looked different in different cultures. He could be skinny, short, or even scary. But then, Coca-Cola hired Haddon Sundblom to draw Santa for their ads. He based his Santa on a poem by Clement Clark Moore called "Twas the Night Before Christmas." His Santa was warm, happy, and human-like, with rosy cheeks, a white beard, and a big smile. Coca-Cola has used this Santa ever since and made him popular in cards, books, movies, and TV shows. They also added other characters like Sprite Boy, an elf who worked with Santa. So, next time you see Santa in his red-and-white suit, remember that he is partly a product of Coca-Cola’s clever marketing. 😉 But also remember that he has a rich and diverse history that goes beyond one brand. What do you think? Is Coca-Cola’s Santa overrated and commercialized? #CocaCola #SantaClaus #Marketing #Branding #History #Culture Some companies and people that inspired this post are: The Coca-Cola Company, Sprite, Martin Lindstrom, John Maeda, Shama Hyder and Tai Tran

Pope Francis’ insightful parable about wine and grappa referenced in the book ‘Value(s)’ written by Mark Carney also speaks to the importance of all three pillars of sustainability: economy, preservation, and community; in this case the need for them to be in balance. On page three @markcarney writes about lunch at the Vatican to discuss the future of the market system. He shares in his book: “Pope Francis surprised us by joining the lunch and sharing a parable. He observed that: Our meal will be accompanied by wine. Now, wine is many things. It has bouquets, colour, and richness of taste that all complement the food. It has alcohol that can enliven the mind. Wine enriches all of our senses. At the end of our feast, we will have grappa. Grappa is one thing alcohol. Grappa in wine distilled.” “He continued; Humanity is many things - passionate, curious, rational, altruistic, creative, self-interested. But the market is one thing: self- interest. The market is humanity distilled. And then he challenged us: Your job is to turn the grappa back into wine, to turn the market back into humanity. This isn’t theology. This is reality. This is the truth.” #WiseWords #Wine #Economy #Community #Land #Sustainability
I think the Pope is on to something here. 😉
