Today student leaders of the Hospitality Management Program welcomed Stephanie Fischer President & CEO, and Katherine A. of the Georgia Restaurant Association to campus. Collaborating with industry partners like the Georgia Restaurant Association offers students in the Hospitality Management Program an array of invaluable opportunities. These collaborations help bridge the gap between academia and the real-world demands of the hospitality and restaurant industry. Here are some key benefits that students can gain from such partnerships: · Real-World Experience: Engaging with industry leaders allows students to gain practical insights into the operations, challenges, and dynamics of the hospitality sector. This experience is crucial for understanding the practical aspects of what they learn in the classroom. · Career Guidance and Advice: Gaining first-hand advice from successful individuals in the industry can guide students in making informed career choices. It can help them understand various career paths and what they entail. · Understanding of Industry Standards and Expectations: Interacting directly with industry leaders helps students understand the professional standards and expectations of the hospitality sector, enabling them to better prepare for their future careers. Such partnerships are a testament to the commitment of educational institutions to provide students with a holistic and relevant education that not only includes academic knowledge but also practical skills and real-world exposure necessary for success in the hospitality industry. Consultant. Coach. Trainer. Trustee. Empowering individuals, teams and organisations to achieve their potential.
A massive congratulations to everyone who has become Chartered!!! One of the roles I added to my portfolio career this year is as a Chartered Institute of Public Relations Chartership Assessor. Having achieved my own Chartered Practitioner status back in July 2022, I know just how challenging and rigorous (and terrifying!) the process can be. But one thing that made it so much easier on the day was how approachable and warm the assessors were. They really wanted us to succeed and gave us every opportunity to shine. Now I have the chance to sit on the other side of the panel, I really hope that I am giving applicants for Chartership that same positive experience. I've had the privilege to sit on two of the six panels that have taken place so far in 2024, and want to congratulate everyone who was brave enough to put themselves forward, whether they achieved Chartership or gained a learning opportunity to try again in the future. When I achieved Chartered Practitioner status, there were over 400 people with the accolade, and now it is more than 600. This can only be a good thing when it comes to raising the credibility of the PR profession. There are plenty of resources in the CIPR's post below. If you are thinking about becoming Chartered, then make sure you sign up for a Chartership buddy, review the videos and blogs, and treat it like the rigorous assessment it is - that means time to read, revise and prepare in advance. But, most of all, don't be put off by the fact it can seem a little intimidating. While the assessors have some great experience, so too do all of the applicants- and we all learn so much through the discussions and becoming part of a growing Community of Practice. #GetChartered #PublicRelations #CIPR

Training & Recruiting Manager: attracting and developing best talents | mamma, distopic TV series fan
Have you ever had a mentor? The value of a good manager or mentor in your career cannot be underestimated. Yesterday, Marc Psaila Soler , with the management of Lidl Malta Ltd. , presented a talk to Mcast students on the important milestone of opening our logistics centre in Malta in 2022. It wasn't just an opportunity to showcase the great job done from all departments and interconnections between them but also helped me reflect on how much I was involved in it and how much trust was granted from my manager. From my meetings with Marc, I have learned some great tips: ⭐ Always ask for someone's own solution before giving your point of view when they come to you with a possible issue. ⭐ Share as much information as you can, offering the big picture to everyone involved. ⭐ Challenge your colleagues with always new experiences giving them the space to try, fail and succeed after. ⭐ Always take time to do a recap of what worked and what didn't for you and who'll handle your project in the future. Great managers will be able to make you shine thanks to hidden (or not so hidden) suggestions and feedback. ⭐ #mentor #mcast #careeradvice
