Norman Chapman, president & CEO, Inman Mills and chairman of National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO), provides updates on trade and legislation at the federal level during the recent Southern Textile Association’s Summer Marketing Forum at the Textile Technology Center at Gaston College in #Belmont, N.C. He discussed the push and the NCTO’s opposition to weakening the CAFTA-DR Rules of Origin, China 301 penalty tariffs, the XUAR cotton ban, nearshoring textile and apparel manufacturing, U.S.-China competitiveness, FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act, Farm Bill renewal, the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill and Section 321 de minimis policy.
