Ramadan is ending, what’s next? 🌙✨ Your Muslim clients, colleagues, and employees will be celebrating the Muslim holiday called Eid! What is Eid? Eid (al-Fitr) is one of the two major Muslim holiday celebrations, where Muslims gather with friends, family, and community members. Eid al-Fitr (Arabic) translates to “festival of breaking the fast,” which is exactly as it sounds—it commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan. When is Eid? We are not sure, but we know it will be the day after the last day of Ramadan. This year, it will either fall on Tuesday, April 9th, or Wednesday, April 10th—depending on the moon sighting which will indicate if Ramadan is 29 or 30 days this year. For this reason, some might celebrate one day and others the second day. When will we know? As mentioned, we are all anticipating the announcement of the arrival of Eid depending on the moon sighting. Request? Your Muslim clients, colleagues, and employees will likely observe this holiday and request time off. Consider flexibility and understanding when they submit their time-off request as we are waiting to find out as well if it will be Tuesday, 4/9, or Wednesday, 4/10. Celebrate? You are welcome to join in celebrating even if you did not fast for Ramadan. Eid greeting? You can say “Eid Mubarak” meaning “Blessed Eid” or simply “Happy Eid.” Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating! #DiversityandInclusion #Ramadan #CulturalAwareness #Eid

🌙 ✨ Ramadan Mubarak! ✨ 🌙 Did you know? Ramadan is celebrated by Muslims around the world, making it one of the most widely observed religious traditions. With approximately 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide, nearly a quarter of the world's population observes Ramadan. During this holy month, Muslims of all ages and backgrounds come together to fast from dawn to sunset, engage in increased prayers, read the Quran, perform acts of charity, and reflect on their spirituality. The practices and customs of Ramadan may vary across different cultures and regions, but the core essence of devotion, self-discipline, and community spirit remains universal among Muslims worldwide. As Ramadan begins, we want to share some valuable tips for our fellow Small and Medium-sized Businesses to foster an inclusive and respectful environment for all. Let’s make this month a positive experience for everyone: For Your Workplace: ➡ Flexible Hours: Consider offering flexible work schedules to accommodate fasting employees. ➡ Quiet Spaces: Designate a quiet area for prayer breaks to support employees during this special time. ➡ Understanding & Support: Foster a culture of understanding and support among your team. Educate everyone about the significance of Ramadan. ➡ Thoughtful Events: If hosting any events, be mindful of fasting hours and dietary preferences. ➡ Encourage Rest:Acknowledge the physical demands of fasting. Encourage breaks and rest as needed. For Your Customers: ➡ Extended Hours: If feasible, extend your business hours to accommodate customers’ needs during Ramadan. ➡ Respectful Interactions: Use respectful greetings such as “Ramadan Mubarak” or “Ramadan Kareem” when interacting with customers. ➡ Timely Deliveries: For deliveries, ensure prompt and respectful service, especially during Iftar time. Avoid Asking About Fasting: Be mindful not to inquire about the difficulty of fasting, as it can be personal and sensitive. Let’s come together as a community of small businesses to embrace unity and inclusivity this Ramadan season!

Are you ready to paint the world with vibrant colors this Holi? 🌟 As we gear up to celebrate this joyous festival, whether at home or abroad, let's ensure our adventures are not only filled with fun but also safety! 🌍🛡️ 🎉 Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, is a spring festival celebrated predominantly in India and Nepal. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. People come together to smear each other with colored powders, sing, dance, and indulge in festive treats. 🎨 Celebrating Holi Abroad: If you're celebrating Holi in a new country, take this opportunity to learn about local traditions and customs. Traveling in groups is advisable, whether you're exploring new destinations or attending Holi events. It ensures you have a support network and can look out for each other, contributing to a safer celebration overall. Stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas during Holi celebrations. Petty crimes such as pickpocketing can occur in such settings, so keep your belongings secure and avoid isolated or unfamiliar places, particularly at night. When participating in Holi, ensure the colors used are safe and non-toxic. Consider applying a layer of moisturizer or oil on your skin beforehand to make color removal easier afterward. Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses or goggles. ✨ Let's celebrate responsibly, spreading joy and positivity wherever we go! 🌈 Wishing you all a colorful and safe Holi! #travelriskmanagement #SafeAbroad #travelsafety #StudyAbroad #InternationalEducation

Founder & Recruitment Director | Events Specialist Recruiter for The UK Exhibition and Conference Industry | Voted in The Top 100 Most Influential People in the Event Industry |
Attention event organisers committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity! I'm excited to share some insights on how we can make our workplaces and events more inclusive during the holy month of Ramadan... During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, refraining from food and drink. This means that events held during this time need to be considerate of participants' fasting schedules. Event organisers can plan accordingly by scheduling events either before sunset or after iftar, the evening meal that breaks the fast. Moreover, offering a variety of food options that are halal and suitable for breaking the fast can enhance the event experience for Muslim attendees. This includes providing dates and water for iftar, as is tradition, along with other halal food options to accommodate dietary restrictions. Additionally, creating inclusive and welcoming event spaces where Muslim attendees feel comfortable practising their religious observances, such as prayer areas, can further enhance the overall event experience. By being mindful of the needs of Muslim attendees during Ramadan, the events industry can ensure that everyone feels included and valued, fostering a sense of community and respect for diverse cultural and religious practices. Ramadan Mubarak! 🌙✨ #diversityandinclusion #eventprofsuk #eventprofs
