📢 We are excited to share a compelling case report recently published in the upcoming "Case Clinics in Mechanical Cough Assisted Therapy," edited by Antonio M. Esquinas MD, PhD, FNIV, FCCP, Governor for Spain at ICRC. 🏥 This study details the innovative treatment approach for a 71-year-old patient suffering from myasthenia gravis and acute respiratory failure due to COVID-19 pneumonia. The use of a Mechanical In/Exsufflator (MI-E) device proved to be highly effective in managing sputum retention and avoiding a tracheostomy, showcasing significant improvements in the patient's respiratory function and overall health. 💡 Key Insights: - Effective use of MI-E device with specific pressure settings and patient positioning. - Remarkable recovery and improvement in patient's condition. - Highlights the crucial role of advanced mechanical cough assistance in critical care.
