According to CNN, the number of post-doctoral researchers is on a steady decline, decreasing 9% from 2020 to present. It looks like this downward trend will continue. The trend is understandable. Whether you enter the biotech industry immediately after your Ph.D. or after 6 years of additional research, you're likely to start your career with the same seniority.
