You do not have to look too far to see why our mission is so vital. In New Jersey, 812,440 people, including 197,280 children, are food insecure, according to a 2023 Feeding America and Hunger Free report. That translates to 1 in 11 individuals and 1 in 10 children who live in homes without consistent access to adequate food. People facing hunger in New Jersey are estimated to need $541,297,000 more per year to meet their food needs. In Monmouth County, 48,120 people, including 9,170 children are food insecure. #whywebreak #helpfortodayhopefortomorrow

This #Thanksgiving, join me in supporting @CommunityServings' 31st annual #PieInTheSky bake sale! A $35 donation provides a week of meals for a critically ill neighbor and a scrumptious apple, pecan, or pumpkin #pie for you. I've teamed up with the wonderful folks at Community Servings, a Boston-based organization that provides much-needed support to our neighbors across Massachusetts. This program is no ordinary meal service – it annually prepares and delivers over 1,000,000 medically tailored, scratch-made meals to individuals and families facing critical and chronic illnesses. These are people dealing with conditions like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, and more. The impact of these meals is immeasurable, providing not just nourishment but also comfort and support to those who need it most. You can help his heartwarming initiative in a couple of ways: * Make a $35 donation at PieInTheSky.org, and as a token of our appreciation, select your choice of a locally-baked Apple, Pecan, or Pumpkin pie, which will be ready for you to enjoy on Thanksgiving. Each pie you purchase provides a week's worth of meals to those in need. * If you don't need a pie this year, no worries! You can still make a difference by gifting a pie to someone else or by purchasing a 'Pie for a Community Servings Client.' Both options directly contribute to providing a week's worth of meals for those supported by Community Servings. You can pick up your chosen pie the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 21st) at one of the many conveniently-located pick-up sites. Keep in mind that the number of pies available is limited, so I recommend visiting the website and donating to secure your pie today before your favorite flavor runs out! When you make your donation, don't forget to select me as your pie seller. Together, we can support Community Servings' efforts to ensure that food-insecure, critically ill neighbors and their families have a warm and hearty Thanksgiving. Let's make a difference together!

September is Hunger Awareness Month. Although September is ending, there are still ways to help alleviate hunger in the community. Hunger is a critical issue in America, affecting millions of people, including 9 million children, as per the USDA. It's important to understand that hunger is prevalent in all communities, with rural areas being hit harder. Hunger can affect anyone, and many people in America have only one job loss, missed paycheck, or medical emergency away from food insecurity. However, hunger doesn't affect everyone equally, with groups like children, seniors, and people of color being more vulnerable. It's essential to understand that hunger is a widespread issue; anyone from our neighbors to children's classmates and coworkers could struggle to get enough to eat. Together, we can make a difference by helping our neighbors. You can visit our website for ways to contribute. https://lnkd.in/gEBgr2Vy

September is Hunger Action Month!🧡 This month, communities across America are committing to fight hunger during Hunger Action Month. As the leading hunger relief organization in Arkansas, our duty is to serve hungry children, families, and seniors. In Arkansas, 1 in 6 Arkansans are food-insecure, which means they struggle to find sufficient access to nutritious food. Regarding children, 1 in 5 are facing hunger, and in some rural areas, it’s even higher. This month, we encourage you to find ways to support hunger awareness in your community. With every action, we get one step closer to making hunger a thing of the past. #AFBHungerActionMonth #HungerActionMonth

When you have guests over, where do they tend to congregate? We wouldn’t be surprised if you said the kitchen. It's where life happens. 🧑🍳🍳 That's why community kitchens are so important to the Compassion centres that serve children in poverty daily. They create connection. They foster belonging. And most of all, they fill empty bellies. Learn more about how Community Kitchens help fight malnutrition today! https://bit.ly/3SYv7hE

Do what ever you can to make an impact and inspire young talents
Here’s a story of how we helped 55 homeless children find their place in the world again❤️ Now they can become heroes of their own stories rather than pawns in the hands of the wrong people. It is possible to do great things from a small place.
