National Puzzle Day: Beat the January Chill with Canine Puzzle Fun! As the cold January weather keeps our dogs indoors more often, it's crucial to keep their minds active and engaged. Celebrate National Puzzle Day by introducing puzzles and mental enrichment into your dog's daily routine! Mental and olfactory exercises are essential for a dog's well-being. Transforming mealtimes into an enriching experience, like hiding kibble in a towel or setting up a "Freework" course, stimulates their natural problem-solving skills. This approach to feeding and play not only fulfills their need to express natural behaviors but also provides much-needed mental stimulation during these colder indoor months. For a variety of puzzle ideas and enrichment feeders to keep your dog's mind sharp, explore Joyful Dog's detailed blog post: Enrichment: The Spice of Your Dog's Life! - https://lnkd.in/d65u4NV9 - from Green Feeders to Kongs, and Nina Ottosson Puzzles to Snuffle Mats, there’s a world of options to explore. #mondaymood #dreamland Doggy Dreams 💤 As we watch our pups with their tiny barks and running paws while they sleep, we can’t help but wonder: Are they dreaming? What are they dreaming about? While we can’t be 100% sure, the evidence suggests that dogs do dream! Just like us, dogs experience REM sleep, where dreams are the most vivid and memorable. This is the stage where we see our pups twitch, bark, and yip — classic signs they’re deep in dreamland. Scientists have studied sleep cycles in both people and dogs and found that their dreaming patterns are surprisingly similar. Now, onto the fun part: what could our pups be dreaming about? Behavioral experts believe our dogs are likely dreaming about real-life experiences, like chasing squirrels, playing fetch, or those beloved nose smooches and forehead nuzzles from you. While our pups can’t tell us their dream stories, it’s fun to guess and imagine where their dreams take them.

You are either an Early Bird or Night Owl. Usually, people say Early Birds are superior. They sleep at time and wake up at early morning. They can do their job on time, etc. We usually neglect the Night Owls. Why? Becuase, they are less productive, they are not time punctual. Well they are true at some point. But they are few things in which Night Owls are far better than Early Birds which you will find in the attached document. I hope you learned something new today. If yes, don't forget to Like and share your views. #earlybird #nightowl #productivity #punctuality #discipline #linkedin

University researcher, psychologist (AHPRA, MAPS), author and speaker. Founding Director, Visible Wellbeing School Program - used in 100 countries.
I have always found it pretty wonderful that my daughter, Emily, can tell me the species of many birds simply by hearing their call. She learnt this skill from her grandfather. After their long walks together in the Aussie bush she always comes back so peaceful and content. As I read into the psychology of birdwatching, particularly ‘mindful birding’, I understand why! Experiencing the sights and sounds of birds has been linked to decreased anxiety and an enhanced sense of wellbeing and restoration. Let’s move more. This guy certainly keeps me out walking. When working from home, he ensures I don’t sit at my desk like a robot the entire day. Oscar gets me up and out for a break, even if it’s just for 20 mins. In the rain. At the weekends, he provides a good excuse for us to get out and moving as a family. Or he proves an even better excuse for one of us parents to escape family mayhem for a bit - ‘off out to walk the dog’ is code for ‘I’m tapping out for a bit’ 😆 Regardless of where, what or how, moving your body is the best way to de-stress, it provides thinking time and more clarity of mind. This #mentalhealthawarenessweek, let’s try and take more #momentsformovement. (Anyone would think this post is about promoting dog ownership! I mean, they are awesome 🤩 especially this one 👇)

Dogs that get regular exercise are often better behaved. Regular physical activity helps to burn off excess energy, making them less likely to engage in destructive behaviors such as chewing furniture or digging in the yard. It can also reduce anxiety and stress, leading to a calmer demeanor. #DOGust #dogs #DogExercise #DogsKeepUsHealthy #AdventuresOnFourPaws #ILoveDogs

🐶 Ever wondered about turning your pup's crate into a cozy retreat? Covering it with a blanket might just be the trick! By mimicking a den, a covered crate can be a sanctuary for your dog, offering them a private spot to unwind. 🏡 Choosing the right cover is key—too thick and they might overheat, too thin and it won’t be snug enough. Official crate covers are your best bet, designed with your dog’s comfort in mind. 🌡️ For dogs in recovery or those with separation anxiety, a crate cover can help soothe their nerves. It's about creating a snug, secure environment that says, "This is your chill zone." 🛌 Learn more in this article. 🌐 https://lnkd.in/gzQdxphi . . . . #cratetraining #dogcare #pettips #comfortzone #petparenting #doglife #cozyden #dogcomfort #pamperedpup
