Last week marked the end of my time at Merck/MSD.
All my friends I needed to thank for being so good with me, received my final "love letter" individually*, so I won’t add to LinkedIn’s predictable unhelpful feed.
I believe most people log into this platform with either a job search or self-promotion goal. I guess the rest got tired of scrolling through TikTok, and a few want to learn something helpful. Let me try to make this post useful to many of them.

I wish more young professionals knew how good it can be. For me, it checked all the boxes in terms of what I would expect of a company where I’m going to commit extensive time and effort:
1. A great mission that is lived by all teams across the company (can it get better than “Saving and improving lives”?).
2. Excellent, ethical, experienced leaders that I trusted and learned from on a daily basis. This is VERY difficult to find.
3. Infinite opportunities to learn and grow. At Merck, I had way more opportunities to learn than I could really absorb.
4. Honest care, respect, and value for employees.
I could write a book detailing each one of the above, but won’t bore you. To answer the question that I will often get in the future: “Is Merck/MSD a great place to work?” YES! It is a great place to be. I’d recommend it to anyone! And if anybody has any questions about it, DM me at any time.
I realize many assume that anyone changing roles does so from a place of dissatisfaction. This is a fallacy, of course, but some might still be wondering then, why I made a decision to leave such a great place. Well, I like taking risks and explore growth in new radical ways that meet my personal long-term goals. I might have something wrong in my head. Who knows, it could be a topic for a future post.
