There has been a global paradigm shift in how the future of vehicles will evolve. As Electric Vehicles (EVs), connected mobility and new technologies transform the way we move, we also need to create a forward-looking regulatory ecosystem which can provide a platform for implementation. The government has been very proactive and supportive with EV policies and incentives as well as in pushing for better mobility solutions for Indian cities. At the same time, it’s great to see many states coming up with state level policies to support the creation of mobility infrastructure.

In the Panel Discussion on “India’s role in Global Semiconductor Value Chain” Mr Nikhil Mallavarapu, Director, Centum Electronics Ltd, emphasized the need for a multifaceted approach to the energy transition. He stressed that India must focus on building a resilient ecosystem, strengthening key industrial sectors, enhancing its R&D and innovation capabilities, and prioritizing skilling and workforce development. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of global collaboration in driving these efforts forward. Mr Tanveer Ahmed, Chief Technology, Officer Digantara, emphasized the importance of fostering a strong tolerance for failure and prioritizing innovation. He stated that capital expenditures and facilities for scaling operations are essential for growth. Furthermore, he stressed the need for greater collaboration between industry and academia, particularly in sharing intellectual property to drive progress. Mr Santosh Gundapi, Vice Chairman, CII Mysuru & Senior Director, AT & S India Pvt Ltd, emphasized that achieving Atma Nirbhar Bharat and self-reliance requires significant effort. He stated, "We must prioritize supply chain management and recognize price management as a critical factor. It's essential to leverage available government policies to foster growth and expansion." At MachineCon GCC Summit 2024, Manish Kumar Purwar, Sr. Director of Customer Experience at GE HealthCare, chaired a panel on the challenges of finding and keeping top talent in Global Capability Centers (GCCs).
