A new financial year means it's time to renew your facility’s subscription to the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO) 💧 The GSPO are the recognised national industry standards that describe and make recommendations on the appropriate minimum standards of safety attached to the design, ownership, and operations of aquatic facilities. They provide a recognised standard of care in particular areas of design and operations. Mudskipper(not sure on species) is an indicator of coastal ecosystem health. 5 behaviors of mudskipper are interested lessons for children. 1. eating they used the mandibles to scrape along the bottom substrate, or sometime they were found jumping in the air to eat the flying insect. 2. moving there are 6 patterns: (1) crutching (2) rowing (3) reversing (4) skating (5) jumping (6) swimming 3. housing using their mouths and pectoral fins to dig the substrate. 4. breeding when the males will changed their skin color to dark, spreading their fins and crawling behind or beside the females for attractions. Finally, the males would lead females to the burrow to mate. 5. zoning behavior when they protected their territories it from intruders by - spreading their fins with opened mouths. Sometime they also fought with their enemies.
