What a week! Year 11 students all over the UK have been getting their exam results, and it marks the beginning of the intense preparation that all schools and colleges go through ahead of the new academic year. For anyone working in schools it will have been a long week! Sometimes that is about removing barriers, sometimes about offering flexibility. Online learning may not be the solution for everyone, but it is an incredible tool and creates new possibilities. Which is why our online iGCSE exam pilot this year was so important. Featured in The Times this week are just a handful of the King's InterHigh students who took part. Their stories are great examples of why online learning is such an important tool for the future, if we are to give young people every chance of success. Congratulations to our #Classof2023 International Baccalaureate graduates! Representing over a third of the Year 12 cohort, the Class of 2023 marks 30 years of the IB DP at Wesley. We are proud of the dedication, perseverance and resilience shown by our entire Class of 2023 and all that they have accomplished during their time at Wesley. Congratulations to our IB Duces Hunter (Glen Waverley Campus) and Junqi (Albert) (St Kilda Road Campus) who both achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.75. The IB and VCE results are shared below as a celebration of academic achievement: • The combined median ATAR for VCE and IB DP is 84.30 • The median ATAR for IB DP is 91.50 • Nine students achieved an ATAR of 99 or above • 33.4% of 2023 Year 12 students achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, placing them in the top 10% • 58% of 2023 Year 12 students achieved an ATAR of 80 or above, placing them in the top 20% The measure of individual achievement goes far beyond a student’s ATAR score. Behind each student is a story of personal growth, overcoming adversity, developing talents and nurturing passions. We wish every student the best for their future.
