Public Relations and Marketing Recruitment Executive Search | Hiring PR, Marketing and Communications Talent Who Drive Revenue and Elevate Your Brand
"We have decided to move forward with another candidate who was a better fit." How many times have you given this feedback in response to an interview? How many times have you received it as a candidate? It’s a pretty standard and even frustrating response that covers any number of reasons. I think it's a missed opportunity for everyone involved. Providing timely feedback to candidates after an interview—whether positive or constructive—is crucial. It shows respect for their time and effort but also offers valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement, helping them grow and better prepare for future opportunities. It also reinforces a culture of transparency and respect, enhancing your reputation as an employer and fostering trust. Committing to timely and constructive feedback for interviews builds stronger relationships with top talent and ensures continuous improvement in hiring practices. It's a win-win for everyone involved. #ExecutiveSearch #Recruitment #HiringProcess #TalentAcquisition #FeedbackCulture #ProfessionalGrowth

Dear hiring managers and HR colleagues, We see how hard it can be to find the “right” people for the teams. Yet, we sometimes hire based on the wrong reasons. This not only leads to dissatisfaction within the team, but also to higher #turnover levels in the future. 😬 Then…what to look for during interviews? Values 🤝 Principles “A résumé/CV is only part of what makes someone a great fit for your team. The single most important thing is to look for someone who believes in your same core values." Many companies proudly highlight their fantastic culture in today's job market. However, company reviews are often filled with contrasting experiences and feedback. I believe in transparency and authenticity in the interview process. Imagine an interview process where candidates could speak directly with non-managerial employees instead of just hearing from the management during the interview process. These individuals, free from any fear of reprisal, could offer a genuine, unfiltered view of the company culture. What would you prefer: the polished narrative presented by the leadership team or honest conversations with the people who experience the company culture daily? #Recruitment #CompanyCulture #Transparency #JobSearch

There are three key areas that are often overlooked when it comes to hiring the right people. 1. Promoting From Within - the perfect person for the job is already on your team. Consider your current team members for promotions or lateral moves into new roles. 2. Using a Rigorous Interview Process - Don't rush the interview process. Use multiple rounds of interviews, including group and individual sessions, to get a comprehensive understanding of each candidate. 3. Prioritizing Cultural Fit - Skills can be taught, but attitude and personality are much harder to change. Look for candidates who align with your company's values. #talent #recruitment #humanresource #people

How to set boundaries during the interview process I've heard too many stories recently from professionals spending 3 hours on assessments and take-home assignments. Companies place a lot of weight on hiring decisions and want to get them right, but there are already multiple application & interview steps in place. ❓ At what point does it become excessive and unnecessary? ❓ At what point are empathy and candidate experience taken into consideration? If you are a candidate, before you jump through hoops, ask yourself: Is this company valuing my time as much as I value theirs? Ask them if there are alternatives that don't demand excess and free work upfront. Explain that while you're eager to showcase your skills, you also want to ensure the process respects your time and energy. Don't underestimate the strength of saying "no" to unreasonable demands. It shows self-respect and hopefully encourages empathy and a re-examining of that employer's expectations. Your time and talents have value - don't settle for an employer who doesn't recognize that. You deserve to be treated fairly. #jobsearch #interviewprocess #candidateexperience

A few people I have been helping through the interview process have had questions about the timing of the process, particularly how long it takes for the hiring manager to get back with them. This is almost always a matter of hiring managers working on right-sizing their teams, so what often feels like an eternity to a candidate is a blink of an eye for a short-staffed manager. Try not to worry. #howcanihelp #candidateexperience #hiringprocess #nulty #encouragement
