Thanks again to Corporate Rebels for giving me a chance to talk about my journey into the self-managing and progressive orgs space as well as how we have been doing at Rebel Energy UK. I should have also mentioned on the webinar that people who are 'intrinsically-motivated' should also not be punished. A reward/recognition process should not be designed to favour those more forthcoming with their monetary and general recognition needs. Explaining the impact of good recognition for employees is the first step in helping to increase employee engagement

Many employees feel that they are not fairly compensated for the work they do. But what if you could choose your own salary? A small UK-based WorldBlu certified business consultancy created a group called “the Money Gang,” composed of mostly elected team members (not the CEO or CFO), to assess and approve all salary decisions fairly and consistently. Employees work up their own proposals of what they think their salary should be and present them to the Money Gang. The Money Gang then determines if the salary proposed is fair and in line with market rates as well as affordable for their organization. If it is, then it is approved.
