#Volunteering #Opportunities Sharing for my York University School of Continuing Studies students Why #volunteer? Volunteers help non-profits achieve their missions and create change in the community. The majority of non-profits will have an application process to ensure that they find the right volunteer for the role. This benefits the non-profit and the community as they ensure that the person has the right skills, experience and personality for the position. This can also benefit you as a volunteer as you’ll be placed in a role that suites your skills and interests. By asking for application forms, resumes or cover letters the non-profit will learn more about your skills and experience related to the volunteer position. Interviews especially are a great way for them to learn more about your passion for the cause, your interest in the role and your strengths. If you want to volunteer to help seniors, children, people with disabilities or others who might be considered vulnerable you will be asked to do a police check. The non-profit may also ask for references which are other people who can give feedback on your skills and working style. https://lnkd.in/gAq-wEcY

***Master's in Computer Applications -- Volunteer (Family Friendly), Education, Career, Soft Skills, Life Skills (Coach Trainer)***
***August-17th, 2023*** 👩💻👩💻National Non-Profit Day!!! 👩💻👩💻I'm glad to say that, I'm a volunteer working in my community for the field of Education, my job is to educate needy people, and volunteer professionals, students who're preparing for exams, interviews (in times of change) in any relevant field related to education as I'm an educator. 👩💻👩💻Volunteering is one such non-profit work which is a voluntary act of an individual, or group freely giving their time, and labor for community service. 👩💻👩💻Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work, such as medicine, education, emergency rescue, or more. 👩💻👩💻Volunteering gives sense of purpose, and meaning to your life, can help you better connect with the community, feel connected with the people for whom you're volunteering in the community. 👩💻👩💻If you're the kind of person who craves a lot of social interaction, then you must be a best fit for a non-profit work, or a volunteer work, and it's really worthwhile. 👩💻👩💻I Love to Educate People for No Reason😊😊😊 #All is well...... #Water-Warrior...... #Thank-God......

5 things to add to your resume to appeal to nonprofit organizations Are you planning to work for a non-profit organization? Then, your #resume must feature skills, qualifications, and activities that non-profit employers value. Here are some things to add to your #resume: 1. Volunteer work Highlighting your previous volunteer work, even if it was for a different kind of charity, will help you appeal to non-profit employers. 2. Fundraising experience Non-profits rely heavily on fundraising projects. Any experience you have with organizing fundraisers must be emphasized on your #resume. 3. Project management skills Highlight your ability to navigate tight budgets, and plan and execute events on your #resume. If you have undertaken any charity projects before, add them to your resume as well. 4. Grant writing experience If you have grant writing experience, mention that on your #resume. Strong business writing skills too would be a great item to display on your resume. 5. Passion for the cause Most importantly, highlight activities that emphasize your passion for giving back to the community. You can mention any community projects you’ve been a part of, on your #resume. #resumewriting #resume #resumetips #resumewriter #resumehelp #resumeservices #jobsearch #resumedesign #resumes #resumeadvice #resumebuilder #cv #resumetemplate #career #careercoach #coverletter #jobs #resumeservice #careeradvice #interviewtips #careerdevelopment #careergoals #resumebuilding #job #jobseekers #jobinterview #resumereview #interview #cvwriting #jobsearching #nonprofitjobs #volunteerwork #fundraising #projectmanagement #grantwriting #socialimpact #nonprofitsector #careerchange #jobhunt #jobopportunities #employment #workforchange #communityservice #socialgood #careerplanning #jobtips #careeropportunities #jobmarket #employmentopportunities #jobapplication #jobready #nonprofitcareer #employmenttips #jobstrategy #jobsuccess #careerpath #jobgoals #jobseeking #careertransition #employmentgoals

I've been an admissions professional for 10 years. Before that, I worked in the non-profit sector with recruiting responsibilities for 10 years. That's 20 years of recruiting people to respond to an organization. Whether it's recruiting adults to lead Girl Scout troops, or work food drives, or agree to pay tens of thousands of dollars for an education, they all have one thing in common...you can't MAKE people say yes. They have to be inspired by your mission. Recruitment is not for the faint of heart. I'm a crier, but not faint of heart. There's a difference. I wipe my tears, but I keep going. I do what I do NOT for glory or recognition, or even promotions. I work for places where I truly believe that by being involved their lives can change. I believe that now about all my past places of employment and my current one. However, if you work with someone whose goals are extremely public and driven by the number of people who say "yes," give them an occasional shout-out. Check on them. Offer to buy a coffee or treat. They are undoubtedly hard on themselves, are overachievers by a fault, and usually feel they aren't good enough. To all my #admissions peers around the world, I want you to know you are good enough. Your work is important and makes a difference (even if that goal seems so far out of reach). #admissions #recruitment #highereducation #nonprofit
