Professional hockey is at an inflection point 🏒 2,541 Miles. That’s the distance the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers travel back-n-forth to face each other in the NHL Finals, setting a new record for the longest distance ever traveled between two teams in the Stanley Cup Finals. The 2024 NHL Finals have captivated viewers, setting record-breaking TV ratings and some of the highest attendance numbers in history. With 15 teams operating at 100% capacity, or 97% capacity across the 36 host arenas, it's clear that professional hockey is at an all-time high. Looking ahead, the NHL is gearing up for the in-season 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off, building on off increased fan engagement. Team sponsorship revenue surged by 23% year-over-year during the 2022-23 season, and another 10% during the 2023-2024 season, outpacing many other major U.S. sports leagues. These upward trends are expected to continue to expand the NHL’s fanbase (internationally) and continue to grow sponsorship and investment opportunities in the future. 💭 It will be interesting to see how the NHL can leverage this momentum for future growth and how investors can be a part of it. #privatecredit #privateequity #sportsmediaentertainment

Women's Sports Advocate | Digital Communications | @WomensHockeyCards on Instagram | Toronto Sceptres (PWHL) Season Ticket Holder
Via Alex Wauthy: "The Inaugural Flagship PWHL hockey trading card set is slated to be released this fall, Paul Douglas Zickler, Director of Sports Brands [at The Upper Deck Company], told The Hockey News . An exact date is to be determined... The base set will feature 50 veterans and current players, the most expansive PWHL product thus far. Action shots and other sorts of dynamic imagery will be a product feature... Zicklers says it will include some of Upper Deck's "iconic flagship designs, wink wink." "It's going to be more of our standard designs," Zickler said. "You're going to see some of those iconic designs, you know, from past flagship products. So it will be more like your traditional trading card product." On the card, the product will feature the team names from the inaugural PWHL season, such as PWHL Minnesota, rather than showcasing their new team names... The product packaging will feature a star from the inaugural PWHL season. "I think you can sort of use your intuition there," Zickler said. "But [she] had a great playoff, too." [🧐 Heise?]... Due to a lack of jerseys during the inaugural season and an upcoming transition to team names and official branding, Zickler says jersey and patch cards are a longer-term play. Autograph cards fall in the same category due to the intricacy of building the cards... Upper Deck plans to release the official solicitation of the product in the coming week." 📰 Full story: https://lnkd.in/gzzwGvjM ------ Can't wait!!! Really hoping there'll Young Guns cards as part of this release! 🤞🤞🤞 #hockey #sports #sportsmarketing #sportsbiz #tradingcards #womenshockey #pwhl #hockeycanada #usahockey #upperdeck #nhl #womeninsport #womeninsports

🏀 🏒 ⚽ With the conclusion of the National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Playoffs Monday night, The Florida Panthers are NHL Champions. And congrats to The Boston Celtics of The National Basketball Association (NBA) on their 2024 Championship as well. But I want to take a moment to brag a bit on my hometown, the City of St. Louis on its production of top tier sports talent... Matthew Tkachuk of the Panthers and Jayson Tatum of the Celtics were classmates & friends in their youth, growing up in St. Louis. In the world of International Soccer; both Tim Ream (Fulham Football Club) and Josh Sargent (Norwich City Football Club), who had stellar seasons with their respective Clubs, have been named to the U.S. Soccer Federation Men's National Team for this Summer's CONMEBOL Copa America 2024 (which is also featuring Nations from CONCACAF this go around)... and you guessed it; both Tim and Josh grew up in St. Louis. Maybe larger metros produce more stars, but for a moderately sized metro region, St. Louis has some great sports pedigree per capita. Congrats to all the youth coaches, teachers & mentors who had a hand in developing these fierce competitors and champions!! So, to all the St. Louis youth athletes striving for greatness; keep that MidWest work ethic, keep that St. Louis chip on your shoulder, and keep on grinding!! #champions #championships #sports #competitiveness
