Today, there are approximately 316 issuers offering 3,374 US-listed ETFs in the marketplace. With $8.2 trillion in assets, ETFs continue to grow in size and scope, and having trusted partners to support efficient trading of ETF shares is critical to investor outcomes. State Street SPDR ETFs partners with Exchanges, Authorized Participants, and Liquidity Providers to ensure investors can trade ETFs with a high degree of confidence on all venues and platforms. Authorized Participants play a critical role in creating and redeeming ETF shares, commonly referred to as the primary market, in response to demand from investors. This primary market allows APs and other liquidity providers to facilitate trading of ETF shares at or around net asset value (NAV) which can minimize transaction costs for clients. Please explore the resources we have available on ssga.com to learn more about Authorized Participants, including The Investor’s Guide to ETFs which reviews the creation and redemption process.
