Managing an international #sales team across 11 diverse markets has been one of the most exhilarating and challenging experiences of my career. Each market brings its own unique set of opportunities and hurdles, but the journey has been nothing short of transformative. From the outset, it was clear that success in such a varied landscape required more than just a one-size-fits-all approach. Each region has its own business culture, market dynamics, and customer expectations, which meant I had to tailor strategies to meet local needs while maintaining a unified vision. 🇯🇵 For instance, the high-context communication style in Japan demanded a more nuanced and respectful approach 🇫🇮 🇸🇪 🇩🇰 🇳🇴 In the Nordics, where transparency and efficiency are paramount, focusing on clear communication and delivering value quickly has been key to gaining trust. 🇮🇹 Italy’s approach to business is deeply rooted in personal connections so we put a lot of effort in nurturing those relationships and noticed that the sales cycle tends to be a bit longer, but then again once they make the decision they will become our most loyal customers. We have the highest referral rate in Italy. One of the key challenges was ensuring consistent communication and alignment across different time zones and cultural contexts. This demanded a deep understanding of each team's distinct motivations and working styles. I learned that flexibility and empathy are crucial in leading a global team. Embracing these differences and leveraging them as strengths has been fundamental to driving growth. Under my leadership, our international sales team has achieved several key successes: ➡ Set a revenue record in July, showcasing our team's exceptional performance and the effectiveness of our strategies. ➡ Consistently achieved positive Month-over-Month (MoM), Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ), and Year-over-Year (YoY) growth, reflecting our successful strategies and execution. None of these achievements would have been possible without the incredible team of skilled individuals who have driven TaxDome's expansion into global markets. Their dedication and expertise have been crucial in navigating this complex landscape and achieving remarkable results. Kudos to them for their hard work and commitment! 🌟

It’s been a few weeks into 2024, and they’ve been nothing short of exhilarating! We held our annual Sales Kick-Off virtually this year, making it a more inclusive experience for our globally dispersed teams. Our theme was ‘Rock-N-Roll’ (guess which rockstar I am in the picture), and we focused on understanding the importance of adjacencies, complimenting capabilities, and enhancing customer value for the sales and marketing organization. As we curtained the SKO, I hopped across the pond to meet with our EMEA team and customers in the region! EMEA is a key growth market for Egnyte and we are constantly increasing our customer footprint in the region. We moved into a larger office last year in Reading, UK, and are employing strategic agility to keep growing. Egnyte is on a path to win ‘em all, and every time I meet team members in different geographies, it heartens me that we all are equally aligned and focused to succeed.

I am an introvert, I am awkward, and I am grateful I picked sales. I can now talk to strangers without my heart racing. I can deliver presentations without losing sleep. I can speak to an intern or a CEO with exactly the same levels of confidence. I have learnt not to take somebody else's bad day and bad behaviour personally. I have learnt to embrace competition and have developed a love for going the extra mile to get things done. I have gotten the opportunity to live life in quarters, to leverage "new year" and "day 1 thinking" every single quarter. Sales can surely be uneasy, but it is massively rewarding.
