Habits shape your identity and your identity shapes your habits ♾️ Psychologist Wendy Wood found that 43% of what you do every day is a formed habit, so it’s clearly important to be aware of and actively manage your habits. If you fail to do so, you effectively give up control of your life and identity... First you must decide who you want to be, then figure out the habits necessary to get you there. I use a habit tracker for my 10 most important habits and review my progress daily. This, of course, is subject to iteration. In training for the marathon, I have incorporated new habits for training and recovery. For investing I have started new habits to improve my understanding of where the world is today and where it is going. All so I have control over what I do today that will create who I am tomorrow. — In week 9, I ran 17.8 miles at an average pace of 7:40 minutes per mile. Today I have officially joined my dynamic and motivated team to take part in The Push-Up Challenge 😆 Am so happy you have chosen to take part too David Pearson 🤗 To be honest, it's a challenge that I have stayed away from in the past because frankly I'm 100% NOT a fan of 'push-ups' and hadn't realised that other exercises count towards the activity goal. The reason I have chosen to get involved this time though is because of the cause. It's to raise funds and awareness for mental health, it's something that's always been important to me...but even more so recently. This year has been an interesting year, full of challenges for myself and my family. We are all very positive people and yet, of late, I have also been feeling the weight of all of the curve balls we have experienced. It's what I call the 'domino effect'. Meaning: when lots of unexpected things happen in quick succession and you don't have time to reset and be ready for what's next. As a result they all start to build up and weight you down. So, along with the #LHH and #EZRA team I have signed up to focus on the challenge to support my own mental (and physical) health too 💖 About Our Challenge It kicks off in June - as a team we're taking on The Push-Up Challenge and completing a heap of push-ups (and lots of other activities) between 5-28 June, 2024 to raise funds and awareness for mental health.
