In a world where the global majority are significantly under represented across the board, how important is visibility? Especially when you want to include, support, encourage and engage meaningfully. When working with groups perceived as ‘hard to reach’, are they really hard to reach? How do we enable overcoming barriers any group experiences? How do we collectively address inequalities and inequity? And what is our role? Questions we covered at The Bikeability Trust’s annual Bikeability Conference in Birmingham earlier this week. We led a workshop on effective inclusion techniques and strategies using Cycle Sisters extensive experience. We all have to reassess our practices and think about we centralise inclusion and address inequality at all levels.

Delving into the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act Today I am continuing my research into the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA)📜. As I continue my journey of exploration, I've been immersing myself in the profound insights and principles outlined in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and how it has been integrated into both federal and BC legislation. ✨ The UNDRIP stands as a beacon of recognition for the inherent rights and self-determination of Indigenous peoples around the world. It's a remarkable framework that acknowledges the unique cultural, social, economic, and environmental values that Indigenous communities bring to the table. 🌎🌿 Through extensive research and study, I've been captivated by the potential of aligning these principles with corporate Indigenous engagement strategies. 🤝 ✨The incorporation of UNDRIP values can serve as a guiding light for corporations seeking to develop more meaningful, respectful, and collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities. By embracing these principles, businesses can pave the way for sustainable partnerships that uplift both the Indigenous peoples and the broader community. 🤝💼 As I navigate this exciting terrain, I'm filled with enthusiasm about the positive impact that integrating UNDRIP values can have on corporate practices. Stay tuned as I continue to delve deeper into this subject, exploring how these principles can truly make a difference in fostering understanding, respect, and prosperity. 🌟 #IndigenousRights #Sustainability #UNDRIP #CorporateResponsibility #Inclusion #Collaboration #Workingtogether If you are interested in reading more about UNDRIP: UNDRIP: https://lnkd.in/e4jV_nB3 DRIPA: https://lnkd.in/eS69qSA3

Five community organisations walked into a bar....... Well actually, they attended my first multi organisation strategic planning day! The groups brought a diverse range of kaupapa from supporting women to connect together, weed and predator control to restore nature, free music education for young people, and creating a safe space for neurodiverse gamers and techies to create and design. I was nervous😥 My first time working with more than one organisations at a time to develop a strategic plan on a page 👀 Would it work? When each organization presented their plan towards the end of the session, I don't mind admitting I was a wee bit emotional🙃 Listening to the powerful purposes, visions and goals they had each created that will collectively make a huge difference towards strengthening our communities and our environment was inspiring! So, what did they think? Here's a snapshot of some of the comments from the feedback forms: "Fantastic! Loved the structure and process, Very informative and helpful, Very nicely structured, To structure a strategic plan in one day was amazing and extremely valuable for our organisation, (being able to) Nail the purpose and what success looks like!" Definitely in my happy place ❤️ #strengtheningcommunities #notforprofit #wovencollaboration #facilitation #strategicplanning
